MOX 12V UNIVERSAL DIMMABLE LED DRIVER - 60W

MOX 12V UNIVERSAL DIMMABLE LED DRIVER - 60W

SKU: MOXDIMPS-60

Brand: LED MONTREAL

Want to dim your LED tape with the wall dimmer you already know, no remote, no receiver, no app? The MOX MOXDIMPS-60 is a 12V universal dimmable LED driver — also called a dimmable LED power supply, dimmable LED transformer or constant voltage dimmable driver — that turns the 120V power in your wall into steady 12V DC for single-colour LED strips, then follows a standard 120V AC wall dimmer for smooth, flicker-free control. It is ideal for under-cabinet lighting, cove lighting, bedroom headboards, bars and retail shelving.

This 60W LED driver accepts 100 - 120V AC and delivers a 12V, 5A output, enough for a generous run of 12V tape or several shorter zones. Paired with a recent standard wall dimmer, it brings single-colour LED strips from 100% down to 20% smoothly, without buzzing or nervous flicker at low levels. Because it is a constant voltage unit, the whole run dims evenly from the first section of tape to the last, exactly what you want in a long cove or under a full wall of cabinets. It carries cETLus certification for Canada and USA, so it is ready for inspected residential and commercial work.

It shines in Canadian condos, kitchens, basements, restaurants and boutiques where a clean switch plate matters more than a pile of controllers. Note that it is strictly for single-colour LEDs: RGB, RGBW and variable-CCT tape must be dimmed through their own controller with a non-dimmable driver. Add up the watts of your tape, stay comfortably under 60 Watts, and let the MOXDIMPS-60 bring mood lighting to any room with a simple twist of the dimmer.

What this driver actually does
A 12V LED driver is the heart of every low-voltage lighting job: it takes the 120V power in your wall and turns it into the steady 12V DC that LED tape needs. What sets this MOX unit apart is that the dimming happens upstream, at the wall. Instead of installing a separate controller, receiver and remote, you feed this constant voltage dimmable driver from a standard 120V AC dimmer and it translates that signal into smooth output on the low-voltage side. The result is a clean installation with nothing to program and nothing extra to hide.

Light quality and dimming behaviour
Dimming a strip badly is worse than not dimming it at all: buzzing, stepping and flicker at low levels. This driver was designed to bring single-colour LED strips from 100% down to 20% smoothly, without noise or flickering, when paired with a recent standard wall dimmer. Keep in mind the hard limit on compatibility: it is strictly for single-colour LED tape. RGB, RGBW and variable-CCT strips must be dimmed through their own LED controller paired with a non-dimmable driver, and even a single-colour strip run through a controller needs a non-dimmable driver.

Installation and electrical notes
Plan your load first: add up the watts per foot or per metre of the tape you are installing and stay comfortably under the 60 Watts available, leaving headroom so the driver runs cool. Mount it somewhere accessible — inside a cabinet, above a removable ceiling panel, in a millwork chase or a junction box — never sealed permanently into drywall, since drivers are the serviceable part of an LED system. Respect polarity on the 12V side, keep low-voltage runs short to avoid voltage drop at the far end of a long strip, and connect the line side through your 120V AC wall dimmer. For bigger projects, several drivers placed near their own zones work better than one unit pushed to its limit with very long leads.
