Built for easy, flexible colour
This LED MONTREAL RGB LED strip is a flexible ribbon just 10 mm wide and 2 mm high, which means it tucks into channels, coves and cabinet lips that a rigid fixture could never reach. The 5-metre roll carries Epistar 5050 RGB SMD chips at 30 LEDs per metre, and each chip contains a red, a green and a blue emitter — mixing them at different levels is what creates the enormous colour palette people love. The back of the strip is finished with 3M self-adhesive tape, so on clean, dry, smooth surfaces you simply peel and press. The strip can be cut every 3 LEDs, at the marked 100 mm intervals, so you can tailor a run to a cabinet, a shelf or a stair riser without waste.
Light quality and colour control
The 120° lighting angle spreads light wide and smooth — ideal when the strip sits close to the surface it's washing, like under a counter or inside a cove. CRI is 80+ for pleasant, natural-looking rendering. Keep in mind the honest truth about 5050 RGB chips: they create colour by blending red, green and blue, so they do not produce a true white. The number of colours and effects you can actually achieve depends entirely on the RGB controller you choose, and the strip is dimmable when paired with a low-voltage controller/remote combo.

Wiring, installation and compatibility
Because it runs on 12V DC, this LED tape is safe and simple to work with, but it does need a low-voltage 12V power supply. Size it using the recommended 9W/m figure and the actual length you install — a full 5-metre run needs more capacity than a 2-metre cabinet accent. The strip ships with a 4-pin male connector (17 cm) on one end and a 4-pin female connector (17 cm) on the other, which makes joining sections or reaching a driver tucked in a cabinet much cleaner than soldering. Add an RGB controller with remote between the power supply and the strip to change colours, fade and dim. Heat dissipation is not necessary in a typical home install; in a commercial environment where the strip runs long hours, mounting it in an aluminum channel helps it stay cool and adds a finished look.
Where it works — and the documentation
Think kitchen under-cabinet and toe-kick glow, bedroom headboards, TV back-lighting, basement bars, stairways, display cases and retail shelving, restaurant and salon feature walls, plus boat and RV interiors. Because it's iP20, keep it indoors and dry — no exterior walls, no soffits, no wet or damp locations, and not on the outside of a boat or vehicle. A complete technical PDF spec sheet for this strip is available in the Documentation tab of this page, with all the chip, wiring and rating details you'll want on hand for a permit file or a client presentation.
