Built for clean, continuous light
This LED MONTREAL LED tape light (model MTL-FP10AFHDJ-120AXX, brand CDNLUX) uses Epistar 3014 SMD chips at a density of 120 LEDs per meter on a 2-ounce copper circuit board. The heavier copper matters: it moves heat away from the diodes and helps keep brightness and colour consistent over the length of the run. At 10 mm wide and only 2 mm high, the flexible board slips into slim reveals, cabinet valances and shallow coves, and the 3M self-adhesive backing holds it in place while you work. The tight 120 LEDs/m spacing is what gives you that smooth line of light instead of a row of visible dots — exactly what you want on a straight-on view like an under-cabinet or shelf application.
Light quality you can live with
Rated at a typical 1000 lumens per meter, this strip is bright enough to serve as real task lighting, not just accent. The 3000K warm white colour temperature keeps the atmosphere cozy and flatters wood, brass, warm paint and skin tones, while the 80+ CRI keeps food, fabric and finishes looking honest. A 120° beam angle spreads the output widely, so you get even coverage on the counter or shelf below rather than a narrow stripe. Rated life is 50 000+ hours, which is a long time to go without climbing back up a ladder.

Wiring, dimming and installation
This is a 12V DC low voltage strip, so it needs a 12V DC power supply sized for your run: at 12W per metre, size the driver using the recommended 14.4W/m to leave headroom. The included female DC plug on one end makes connecting to a plug-in supply quick, and the two bare wires on the opposite end let you hard-wire or extend. Cut only on the marked points every 3 LEDs (25 mm) and respect polarity when you solder or use connectors. Dimming is supported two ways: a low voltage dimmer/remote combo on the DC side, or a dimmable power supply controlled by a 120V AC dimmer. One rule not to skip — the strip must be installed on a heat-dissipating surface or inside an appropriate aluminum channel; mounting it on bare wood or inside a sealed plastic cove traps heat and shortens its life.
Where it works and what's in the box
With an iP20 rating, this roll is made for dry indoor spaces: under kitchen cabinets, above crown moulding, inside a pantry or walk-in closet, along a staircase stringer, in retail display cases, jewellery counters, bar backs, restaurant banquettes and office reception walls. Because it is cULus certified for Canada and the USA, it is a safe specification for contractors working on inspected residential and commercial projects on either side of the border. You receive the strip only — plan your power supply, connectors and channel separately. The full technical PDF for this strip is available in the Documentation tab of this page, with the complete spec table for wiring, cut points and driver sizing.
