Built to bend, stick and last
This RGB LED strip is a flexible printed circuit just 12mm wide and 5mm high, thin enough to disappear inside an aluminum channel, behind a crown moulding, under a cabinet or along a stair stringer. The Epistar 5050 RGB SMD chips are spaced at 30 LEDs per meter along the full 5 meters of the roll, and the whole surface is sealed with an iP67 weatherproof coating that protects the diodes and solder points from dust, humidity and splashes. A factory-applied 3M self-adhesive back means most installs need nothing more than a clean, dry surface and firm hand pressure; on rough or oily substrates, mounting clips or a bead of silicone keep the LED tape exactly where you want it.
Colour you actually control
Each 5050 chip holds a red, a green and a blue emitter in one package, and mixing their levels through a low-voltage RGB controller is what creates up to two million different colours — the exact palette depends on the controller and remote you choose. The 120° lighting angle spreads light evenly instead of throwing hard dots, which is ideal for coves and indirect lighting, and the 80+ CRI keeps the colours you light up looking honest. One important note before you buy: an RGB chip does not produce a true white. If your project needs both a colour show and a clean ambient white, run a dedicated white LED strip lighting run alongside it.

Wiring and installation
The strip runs on 12V DC, so it needs a low-voltage driver sized to the run: the recommended power supply figure is 9W/m, which gives the headroom the strip likes. The roll ships with a 4 pin male connector (17cm) on one end and a 4 pin female connector (17cm) on the other, so connecting the strip to your RGB controller is plug-and-play — no soldering required to get started. Need a shorter run? Cut only on the marked cut lines, every 3 LEDs (100mm), and use a solderless 4 pin connector or solder the four pads to keep the red, green and blue channels aligned. Heat dissipation is not necessary for typical residential use; in a commercial environment where the strip runs long hours, mount it in an aluminum profile to help it stay cool and reach its 50 000+ hours rating.
Where it works and what comes with it
Indoors, this is the go-to for ceiling coves, home theatres, basement bars, bedroom headboards, display cases, retail shelving and under-counter accents in restaurants and salons. Outdoors, the iP67 rating covers protected locations — under a soffit, a covered balcony, a roofed patio — but the strip should never be submerged or left permanently exposed to wet conditions. It suits dry and humid environments and holds up between 40C and -10C, which matters when a covered porch turns cold in January.
