Sealed construction made for the outdoors
What makes this IP67 LED driver different from a typical indoor unit is how it is closed up. The housing is a robust cover with the electronics protected inside, and the input and output leads exit through waterproof cable entries — so wind-driven rain, melting snow, hose spray and garden irrigation are not a threat. A mounting bracket on each side of the body gives you two solid screw points, so the driver can be fastened flat to a wall, a deck joist, a gazebo post or the inside of a soffit instead of dangling from its wires. That single detail saves a lot of service calls: a driver that is mechanically anchored doesn't pull on its connections over the seasons.
Clean, constant 12 volts
This is a constant-voltage 12V DC power supply, the type every standard 12V LED tape, puck light and low-voltage fixture expects. It accepts a wide 100–265V AC input, so it is at home on Canadian 120V residential and commercial circuits, and delivers 12V 4A, 48W of usable output. Add up the wattage per foot or per metre of your LED strip, multiply by your total length, then leave yourself some headroom under 48W — that simple habit keeps the driver cool and your light output steady from one end of the run to the other. The unit is not dimmable, so plan on a switched circuit, a smart switch on the line side, or a low-voltage dimmer placed after the driver on the 12V side.

Wiring and installation
This is a hard-wired 12V power supply, not a plug-in adapter, and its two cables are deliberately easy to tell apart. The black cable is the AC input with three conductors: black for live, white for neutral and green for ground. The white cable is the 12V DC output with two conductors, positive and negative. Connect the input to your switched line-voltage circuit in an approved junction box, respect the polarity on the output side (LED strips only light up one way), and use waterproof connectors or a weatherproof box for any splice you make outdoors. For long runs, feed the tape from both ends or split the load across more than one driver rather than pushing a single 48W unit to its limit. Electrical work should always follow the Canadian Electrical Code and your local requirements.
Where it earns its keep — and the paperwork
Homeowners use it for deck and stair lighting, railing tape, pergola and gazebo accents, garden path glow, soffit and eaves lines, cottage docks, boathouses, RVs and trailers. Contractors and small businesses reach for it for outdoor sign lighting, channel letters, awning washes, storefront window displays, patio bars and restaurant terraces — plus plenty of indoor jobs like under-cabinet, toe-kick, closet and display-case lighting, where the sealed body is simply extra insurance in kitchens, basements and garages. The technical PDF spec sheet for the 12V DC IP67 Indoor / Outdoor LED Driver 48W (4A) is available in the Documentation tab of this page — keep it with your project file for inspection and for the electrician doing the hook-up.
