Built small on purpose
The whole point of this compact LED driver is concealment. Its slim housing slides into the places a plug-in adapter cannot go, and the two molded mounting brackets built into the body let you fasten it with two screws instead of tape or zip ties. Wiring runs through two distinct screw-in ports, one for the AC line side and one for the 12V DC load side, which keeps line and low voltage visually separated and makes troubleshooting obvious months later when someone opens the cabinet again.
Electrical and installation notes
The universal 100-240VaC input means the HWDR35 works on standard Canadian line voltage and on 50Hz or 60Hz systems alike. On the output side, plan your load first: add up the wattage of every strip, puck or bar and keep the total at or below the 12W maximum so this 12V LED power supply runs cool and stays stable. Line-voltage connections must be made by a qualified person in an accessible location, following the Canadian Electrical Code and your local inspector's requirements. Respect polarity on the DC side (+ and −) and give the driver some breathing room rather than burying it in insulation.
Voltage drop, wire gauge and real-world runs
Long low-voltage runs are where 12V projects usually go wrong. The screw terminals accept solid wire of 14 AWG and smaller, and with 16 AWG multi-braid wire on the DC output you can locate the driver up to 25 feet from the LEDs without worrying about losing brightness. That freedom lets you hide the hardwired LED transformer in a base cabinet or behind an access panel and still light the far end of the counter. As a rule, feed longer strips from the centre rather than one end, and keep AC and DC conductors in separate paths.

Applications and documentation
Typical jobs include kitchen under-cabinet lighting, bathroom vanity and mirror accents, pantry and closet shelving, bookcases, bar back-lighting and small retail showcases, anywhere a modest 12V load needs clean power. Pair it with 12V LED tape, puck lights or light bars whose combined wattage stays within its rating. The technical spec sheet is available in the Documentation tab.
