Built to take a beating
This 200W unit is a sealed, potted-style outdoor-rated LED driver designed to live where other power supplies fail: under a soffit, behind a sign face, in a damp mechanical room or inside an exterior enclosure. The IP67 rating covers indoor and outdoor installation, which is exactly what Canadian projects demand when a transformer has to survive rain, snow, condensation and wide temperature swings. The housing carries mounting brackets on each end, so you can anchor it flat to a wall, a joist, a strut channel or the inside of a sign cabinet in seconds — no improvised straps, no guesswork on orientation.
Class 1 — read this before you buy
Class 1 is not a bigger version of the little transformer that comes with a strip light kit. It is a different category of product with different code obligations. This 12V power supply is not intended for low-voltage LED strips. Powerful Class 1 transformers are reserved for professional LED applications involving load division through recognized fuses, and inspection and recertification of the installation by an accredited body (UL, Intertek, QPS or similar). Your electrician does not have the authority to complete that inspection. For standard LED strip projects, the strips must be connected to a transformer with a maximum power of 60W at 12V (Class 2) so the installation complies with certification standards and the electrical code, with no inspection required — and using an oversized transformer voids product warranties. Spec it correctly from day one and you avoid a very expensive correction later.

Wiring and load planning
The wide 100-265VAC input gives a designer real flexibility across different supply conditions, while the output side stays locked at a regulated 12Vdc. Plan your load so the connected fixtures stay within the 200W maximum, then leave headroom rather than running the driver at its absolute ceiling — cooler operation is longer operation. In a Class 1 design, the output is divided into protected branches through recognized fuses, each branch sized to the run it feeds; this keeps voltage drop under control on long runs and isolates a fault instead of dropping the whole system. Keep low-voltage runs as short and as heavy-gauge as the design allows, and mount the driver so heat can escape rather than sandwiching it against insulation.
Where it works and what you get
Think illuminated channel letters and sign cabinets, façade and cove accents on commercial buildings, landscape and pathway lighting, canopy and carport lighting, workshops, garages and warehouse task areas — anywhere a 12V DC lighting system is engineered, fused and inspected as a Class 1 installation, in both residential and commercial projects. The technical PDF for this driver is available in the Documentation tab of this page, with the full input, output and dimensional data you need to hand to your electrician, your engineer or your inspection body before the work starts.
