What this power supply really is
The 24DIMP150 is a Class 1 LED driver — a constant-voltage 24V DC source sized for professional lighting loads, not a small consumer adapter. It converts 100 – 120V AC line power into a stable 24V output rated at 6.25A, for a total of 150W. Because it falls into Class 1, the wiring it feeds is treated like line-voltage work: the load must be divided through recognized fuses, and the finished installation has to be inspected and recertified by an accredited body such as UL, Intertek or QPS. An electrician alone cannot sign off on that step, so this driver should only be specified when that professional certification path is part of the project plan.
Dimming and control
Control is refreshingly simple: the unit is dimmable with a 120V AC dimmer installed on the input side. That means the wall dimmer your client already understands becomes the control point for the whole 24V run — no separate low-voltage control wiring to pull through the ceiling, no extra control module hidden in the plenum. For hospitality rooms, boardrooms, retail displays and residential feature lighting, being able to dim from a familiar wall device keeps the user experience intuitive and keeps the rough-in straightforward for the installing crew.

Installation and compatibility notes
Plan the enclosure location first: the supply comes with a junction box measuring 41cm x 8.7cm x 6.0cm, so leave accessible service space above a ceiling tile, inside a millwork chase or in a mechanical room rather than burying it behind drywall. Keep the 24V output runs short and generously sized to protect against voltage drop over distance, and fuse the branches as required by the engineer of record. One warning bears repeating because it is the most common mistake we see: do not use this Class 1 driver for low-voltage LED strips. Strip lighting must be fed by a Class 2 transformer of no more than 96W at 24V or 60W at 12V so the installation complies with certification standards and the electrical code without requiring an inspection. For larger strip projects, the correct approach is several Class 2 outputs rather than one big Class 1 source.
Where it earns its keep, and the paperwork
Think engineered, inspected systems: commercial fit-outs, retail and restaurant interiors, hotel corridors, office and institutional projects, showrooms, and high-end custom homes where a lighting designer has specified a certified 24V platform with divided, fused branches. The cETLus listing for Canada and the USA makes approvals easier on both sides of the border, which is a real advantage for contractors working cross-border specifications.
