Built to hold its colour
The heart of this RGB LED strip is the Epistar 5050 RGB SMD chip, where red, green and blue diodes live inside one package. Mixing them at different levels is what gives you the huge colour range people expect from RGB tape — the exact number of shades you can reach depends on the RGB controller you pair with it. At 60 LEDs per meter, the dots are close enough to read as a continuous line of colour in a channel with a diffuser. Under the chips, a 2-ounce copper circuit board carries current with less voltage drop and pulls heat away from the diodes, which is a big part of why this strip is rated 50 000+ hours.
Electrical and installation details
This is a 24V DC strip drawing 14.4 W per meter, and the recommended power supply is sized at 18 W per meter to leave healthy headroom. It is dimmable with a low-voltage controller/remote combo — that same controller is what changes and mixes your colours. The reel ships with a 4-pin male connector (17 cm) on one end and a 4-pin female connector (17 cm) on the other, so linking to your controller or extending a run is straightforward. Cut only on the marked points, every 6 LEDs (100 mm). Clean and dry your surface before pressing down the 3M self-adhesive backing; heat dissipation is not necessary, but mounting on a heat-dissipating surface or inside an appropriate aluminum channel is recommended.

Where it works best
Think of every place a hidden line of colour changes the mood: cove ceilings in a living room, under upper cabinets in a kitchen, behind a bathroom mirror, along the kick of a home bar, inside display cases and shelving units, under a floating vanity, or as an accent in a basement theatre. On the commercial side, LED tape lighting like this dresses up restaurant bars, salon stations, gyms, boutiques, reception desks and retail displays. Boat and RV interiors are a classic too. Two limits to respect: the IP20 rating means dry indoor locations only — no exterior walls, no wet or damp areas, nothing outside a vehicle — and an RGB chip does not render a true white, so if you need clean task white in the same run, plan a separate white strip or an RGBW solution.
Documentation and what you still need
The full technical PDF for the 24V IP20 High Output RGB LED Strip 60 LED/m (strip only) is available in the Documentation tab — keep it handy for your electrician or for a permit file, since it lists the cULus file number, wattage per meter and cutting interval. Remember that this listing is the strip only: budget for a 24V power supply sized to your total run at 18 W per meter, an RGB controller with remote, and any extension or connector hardware, plus an aluminum channel if you want a finished, built-in look with less visible dotting.
