Built to stay outside
Weather is the number one enemy of outdoor lighting electronics, and this 250W driver is designed around that reality. Its sealed IP67 housing is rated for both indoor and outdoor use, meaning it can be mounted in an open-air location, inside a pole base, behind a sign cabinet or in an unheated mechanical space without a separate weatherproof box. Integrated mounting brackets extend the footprint slightly (24.2 cm with brackets versus 22 cm for the body alone) and give you two solid fixing points for screws or bolts, so the unit stays put on a wall, a joist, a stud or a metal frame. The compact 6.9 cm width and 4.6 cm height let it slide into soffits, ceiling cavities and sign boxes where a bulkier transformer simply will not go.
Electrical performance
The driver accepts a standard 100 – 120V AC input, the usual North American residential and light-commercial supply, and converts it to a stable 24V DC output. With 10.42A and 250W available, you have real capacity to distribute among several branches of a lighting system instead of scattering many small adapters around a property. Note that this unit is not dimmable: plan your controls around relays, timers, photocells or smart switches on the line side rather than a trailing-edge dimmer. Because it is a Class 1 power supply, the output must be divided through recognized fuses, and the finished installation has to be inspected and recertified by an accredited body such as UL, Intertek or QPS — an authority your electrician does not hold on their own.

Where it belongs — and where it does not
This is a professional-grade 24V LED transformer for engineered projects: illuminated signage and channel letters, architectural façade and cornice lighting, parking lot and pathway accents, large landscape and garden lighting layouts, commercial displays and permanent exterior installations. It is not intended for ordinary low-voltage LED strips sold for homes and small businesses; those must be fed by a Class 2 driver of 96W maximum at 24V to meet certification standards and the electrical code without a special inspection. Using an oversized transformer on those products voids their warranty. If your project is a kitchen under-cabinet run, a cove or a bathroom mirror, choose a Class 2 24V driver instead — if it is a fully engineered exterior system with fused distribution, this is exactly the right piece.
Documentation and planning
The full technical PDF for this 24V DC IP67 indoor/outdoor 250W LED driver is available in the Documentation tab, with the certification, input, output and dimensional data you need for your drawings, permit package and inspection file. Before wiring, confirm your total connected load stays within the 250W output, plan your fuse distribution, keep splices in approved weatherproof connectors, and give the driver a bit of airflow even though it is sealed. Do that, and you have a reliable 24V backbone for years of dependable light through Canadian winters and humid summers.
