A sealed driver built for the outdoors
The 12V 8A (96W) Class 1 Outdoor IP67 Power Supply by LED MONTREAL is a hardwire unit, not a plug-in adapter: line voltage comes in, regulated 12V DC goes out. The IP67 rating means the enclosure is sealed against dust and protected against the effects of temporary immersion, which is what you want when a driver is mounted in an exterior junction box, under a deck, in a soffit chase, inside a sign cabinet or in an unheated mechanical space. Canadian weather is hard on electronics — freeze-thaw cycles, wind-driven rain, road salt in the air — so a sealed outdoor LED transformer is a far better long-term bet than an indoor-rated unit tucked into a "protected" corner.

Electrical and installation notes
The wide 100-265VAC input gives installers flexibility across residential and commercial services, and the steady 12VDC 8.0A output keeps light levels consistent along a run instead of drifting or flickering. Because the unit is hardwired, installation belongs to a licensed electrician: proper conductor sizing, weatherproof connections, secure mounting and respect for the manufacturer's wiring instructions are all part of the job. Plan your load so you stay comfortably under the 96W maximum rather than right at the ceiling — a little reserve capacity means cooler operation and fewer surprises when a client asks to add one more fixture next season.
Class 1 means professional applications only
This is the part worth reading twice. A Class 1 driver is not intended for low-voltage LED strips. Transformers of this power are reserved for professional LED applications involving load division through recognized fuses, inspection, and recertification of the installation by an accredited body such as UL, Intertek or QPS — and your electrician does not have the authority to complete that inspection. If your project is a 12V LED strip light installation, you must use a Class 2 transformer rated 60W maximum at 12V so the installation complies with certification standards and the electrical code, with no inspection required. Connecting strips to an oversized transformer voids product warranties. Specify honestly, and the inspection process stays simple.
Where it earns its keep, and the paperwork
Think engineered outdoor LED lighting systems: illuminated sign cabinets and channel letters, storefront and façade accents, landscape and outdoor garden lights, pathway and deck lighting, parking area accents, marquee and canopy installations for restaurants, hotels and retail. On the residential side, it powers professionally designed low-voltage exterior schemes for large homes and properties.
