Built for long, clean colour runs
This RGB 5050 LED strip is a flexible tape 10 mm wide and only 2 mm thick, printed on a 2-ounce copper circuit board — heavier copper means better current flow and better heat spreading along the run. The roll is 5 meters long with a density of 30 LEDs per meter, and it can be cut every 6 LEDs (165.5 mm) at the marked cut points, so you can size it exactly to a cabinet, a shelf, a stair riser or a bar front. A 3M self-adhesive backing is already applied, so on a clean, dry, degreased surface the strip presses straight into place without brackets or screws.
Light quality and colour mixing
Each Epistar 5050 RGB SMD chip holds a red, a green and a blue emitter in one package. By driving those three channels at different levels with an RGB controller, you can mix an enormous range of colours — the exact palette depends on the controller you pair with it. The 120° lighting angle spreads light wide and evenly, which is why this tape washes walls, toe-kicks and coves so nicely instead of throwing a narrow line. Keep in mind that RGB chips do not create a true white; if a crisp white is part of the plan, a dedicated white strip is the better tool for that job.

Electrical, installation and compatibility
The strip is supplied with a 4-pin male connector (17 cm) on one end and a 4-pin female connector (17 cm) on the other, which makes wiring to a 4-pin RGB controller straightforward and lets you chain sections neatly. Feed it with a 24V DC power supply sized at the recommended 9 W/m — that's your headroom rule of thumb for a stable, flicker-free run. Dimming is done through the low-voltage controller/remote combo, not through a standard wall dimmer. Heat dissipation is not necessary in a typical residential install; in a commercial environment where the strip runs long hours, mount it in an aluminum profile to pull heat away and give the line a finished, glare-free look. Because it's IP20, keep it indoors and out of direct contact with water — and note it is not recommended for use outside a boat or a vehicle.
Where it earns its keep, and the paperwork
Homeowners use this LED tape under kitchen cabinets and islands, behind headboards, in coves and tray ceilings, along basement stairs and around home bars and theatre rooms. Contractors like it for millwork accents, reception desks and display niches; small businesses put it behind bar bottles, under retail shelving, in salon mirrors and around restaurant banquettes. It's equally at home in a boat cabin or an RV interior.
