Built to hold its colour
Everything about this reel is made for real installations. The RGB 5050 LED strip uses Epistar 5050 RGB SMD chips, each one carrying red, green and blue emitters in a single package so the colours blend instead of dotting along the run. Underneath, a 2-ounce copper circuit board carries current with less voltage drop and better heat spread than thin boards, which is exactly what you want on a 5-metre length. The IP67 coating seals the whole ribbon against dust and temporary water exposure — think splashes, condensation and damp air — while the 3M self-adhesive backing grips clean, dry surfaces on the first try.
Light quality and control
With 60 LEDs per meter and a 120° lighting angle, the beam washes surfaces smoothly rather than throwing hot spots. Mixing red, green and blue at different levels gives you an enormous colour palette; how many shades you can actually dial in depends on the RGB controller you choose. The strip is dimmable with a low voltage controller/remote combo, so you can go from a soft evening glow to full punch for a party. One honest note worth repeating: an RGB chip does not create a true white, so plan a separate white LED tape run if the same area needs task or general lighting.

Wiring and installation
This is a strip-only reel, so your build list is simple: a 24V DC power supply sized on the recommended 18W/m, an RGB controller with remote, and any extension or connector hardware your layout needs. The strip ships with a 4-pin male connector (17 cm) on one end and a 4-pin female connector (17 cm) on the other, which makes joining runs or reaching a driver tucked in a cabinet much easier. Cut only at the marked points, every 6 LEDs (100 mm), and remember that each cut section still needs its own 24V feed. Wipe the surface clean before pressing the 3M adhesive down, and for long or tight runs an aluminum channel gives you a straight line, protection and a cleaner finish. Heat dissipation is not necessary unless the strip is used in a commercial environment.
Where it earns its keep — and the paperwork
Homeowners run it in toe-kicks, stair nosings, coffered ceilings, basement bars and behind TVs; contractors use it for restaurant booths, retail shelving, salon mirrors, gym feature walls and hotel corridors. Because it is suitable for dry and humid environments, indoor and protected outdoor use, it also works under covered porch ceilings, in soffits and in three-season rooms — anywhere sheltered from standing water and constant weather.
