Compact, concealable design
This 12V hardwired power supply was designed with under-cabinet lighting in mind: its small housing disappears behind a cabinet valance, inside a cupboard or under a shelf, so the only thing anyone notices is the light itself. Two molded mounting brackets are built into the body, allowing you to fasten it securely to cabinetry or a solid backing wherever it suits the layout. Two distinct screw-in ports separate the incoming AC supply from the outgoing DC output, reducing the risk of confusion during wiring and keeping the installation neat for future service.
Electrical and installation details
Because this driver is hardwired directly to line voltage rather than plugged into a power receptacle, installation should be made by a qualified professional in accordance with your local building code. The output supplies 12V DC, rated at 24W (2A), for low-voltage LED tape. To size your system, add up the wattage of every strip connected to the output and keep the total comfortably below the rated 24W: leaving that headroom is the recommended practice for optimal performance and a cooler-running driver. The unit is intended for indoor use only, so mount it in a dry location.
Compatibility and dimming
This LED strip driver works with single-colour 12V LED strips as well as RGB LED strips; for RGB tape, place an RGB controller between the driver and the strip to manage colours and effects. It is not compatible with AC dimmers, so never connect it to a conventional wall dimmer on the input side. To dim a single-colour strip, install a low-voltage DC dimmer on the output, between the driver and the LEDs. Always match the strip voltage to the driver: this model is intended for 12V DC products only.
Where it makes a difference
In a kitchen renovation, one driver hidden above the cabinets can feed the strips lighting the counters below. In a store, it powers light under glass shelving or inside display cabinets. Homeowners use it for bookshelf and closet lighting, toe-kick glow and home bar backlighting, while contractors appreciate a certified, hardwired solution with no exposed cord or bulky adapter.
