A complete kit, no wiring required
What makes this kit different from a standard LED strip lighting installation is that it is battery powered. There is no driver to hide, no outlet to find, no extension cord running across the floor and no electrician to call. You get 1 metre plug-and-play strips that can be run from 1 to 2 metres, each one already fitted with a connector at both ends so the strips and DC extensions simply click together. For anyone who has fought with soldering irons and heat shrink on a Saturday afternoon, this is a relief: the whole job becomes peel, stick, connect, done.
Light quality and the Epistar 3528 chip
The light comes from Epistar 3528 LED chips, made by a world leader in LED components. Compared with a normal LED chip, the 3528 Epistar gives almost three times the brightness, which is why this strip reads as a crisp, saturated line of colour rather than a faint glow. It is a true single-colour strip in red, so the colour stays consistent along the whole run instead of shifting the way cheap coloured film over white LEDs does. Red is a favourite for bars, home theatres and automotive-style accents.

Installation and bypassing obstacles
Plan your run first: measure the surface, decide where the batteries will sit so they stay reachable for changing, then lay the strips out before peeling the adhesive. Clean and dry the surface — melamine, painted wood, metal, glass and plastic all hold well; dusty or textured surfaces do not. When you need to jump over an obstacle such as a range hood, a sink, a cabinet stile or an inside corner, do not cut anything: plug a DC extension into the end connector, route it behind or under the obstacle, and continue with the next 1 metre strip on the other side. Respect the polarity when connecting, and if you prefer a more finished look, the strips can be tucked into a recess, behind a valance or under a shelf lip so you see the light and not the diodes. Cutting remains possible if your project truly requires it, but the connectors mean it is rarely necessary.
Where it shines, and documentation
Because it is an indoor kit made for dry locations, it belongs in kitchens under the upper cabinets, in basements and home theatres behind the screen, along bookcases and display cabinets, in bedrooms under the bed frame or behind the headboard, in closets and pantries, inside jewellery and retail cases, on bar and reception fronts, in restaurants, salons, offices, RVs, trailers and boat cabins, and in holiday or Halloween décor that has to come down in January. Canadian renters and condo owners appreciate that nothing is permanent and nothing is drilled. No spec sheet, IES file or video is currently listed for this kit; if documentation becomes available it will appear in the Documentation tab of this page. In the meantime, our team can help you plan the number of 1 metre strips and extensions your project needs.
