Built to give clean, even light
This 5 meter roll is populated with 60 Epistar 3528 SMD chips per meter on a 2 ounce copper circuit board — the heavier copper helps carry current along the run and keeps the strip stable in everyday use. The profile is deliberately slim: 8mm wide and only 2mm high, which is why it slips into narrow coves, cabinet reveals and aluminum channels that thicker tapes simply cannot enter. The back is finished with a genuine 3M self-adhesive. For the adhesive to hold, the surface must be clean and non-glossy; varnished or glossy wood, dusty drywall and porous surfaces are not ideal, so on those materials mount the strip inside an aluminum profile or use mounting clips instead of relying on tape alone.
Light quality and colour
Typical luminous flux is 400 lumens per meter with a 120° lighting angle, so light spreads wide and merges quickly into a continuous line rather than visible dots — especially behind a frosted diffuser. This SKU is the 3000K warm white version, the cosy, slightly golden tone most people want in living spaces, cove ceilings and hospitality settings. With a CRI of 80+, wood grain, paint colours, fabrics and merchandise keep their true character. Rated life is 50 000+ hours, which is years of nightly ambience before you ever think about it again.
Electrical, cutting and dimming
The strip runs on 12V DC and consumes 4.8W/m; specify a power supply of 6W/m to keep a healthy margin (for a full 5 meter roll, size your driver accordingly). It can be cut every 3 LEDs, that is every 50mm, along the marked cut lines, and each roll includes a female DC plug (17cm) on one end and 2 wires (17cm) on the other end for fast connection. It is dimmable two ways: with a low voltage dimmer/remote combo installed after the power supply, or with a dimmable power supply controlled by a 120V AC dimmer on the line side. Heat dissipation is not necessary in normal residential use; in a commercial environment, mounting in an aluminum profile is the smart move.
