Built for a clean, discreet installation
This black light LED strip is a flexible tape just 8mm wide and 2mm thick, so it disappears into coves, toe-kicks, shelf edges, headboards and the underside of a bar top. The back is covered with 3M self-adhesive: clean and dry the surface, peel and press. It can be cut every 3 LEDs (50mm) at the marked cut points, which means you can wrap a 5-metre roll around a room, then trim the leftover for a second smaller accent. Each roll arrives with a female DC plug (17cm) on one end and 2 bare wires (17cm) on the other end, giving you the choice of plugging into a matching supply or hard-wiring the run.
UV light quality you can actually see working
The light source is an Epistar 2835 SMD chip at 60 LEDs per meter, emitting a 405nm wavelength — the blacklight range that makes fluorescent pigments pop. With a 120° lighting angle, the glow spreads wide and even rather than leaving hot spots, which matters when you're washing a painted wall, a poster collection or a row of glassware. Keep in mind that the 2835 UV chip often reads as blue/purple to the naked eye once powered; that visual is expected and does not change the UV properties of the diode. Fluorescent paint, neon tape, white fabrics and UV-reactive décor are what reveal its real strength.

Electrical, dimming and compatibility
The strip runs on 12V DC, so it needs a low-voltage driver or power supply — this listing is the strip only. Size the supply on the recommended 14.4W/m: multiply that by the length you actually install, not by the full roll if you cut it. Dimming is supported two ways: a low voltage dimmer/remote combo installed after the power supply, or a dimmable power supply controlled by a 120V AC dimmer upstream. Heat dissipation is not strictly necessary on this strip, but installing it on a heat-dissipating surface or inside an appropriate aluminum channel is recommended — it protects the diodes, tidies the look and gives you a solid mounting base on drywall or wood. The iP20 rating means no exposure to water or damp locations: this is an indoor LED strip, period.
Where it earns its keep, and the paperwork
Think basement home theatres and games rooms, bedroom ceiling coves for a glowing night effect, bar and restaurant counters, arcades, laser-tag and escape-room sets, mini-golf and bowling venues, photo booths, Halloween displays and seasonal window installations. Small businesses also use UV strip lighting to highlight fluorescent signage or UV-reactive graphics on a feature wall. Before you start, download the technical PDF in the Documentation tab of this page: it lists the full dimensions, cut points, connection details and power requirements so you can plan your runs, your supply and your channel lengths before the first piece of tape touches the wall.
