The 85 Series extrusion is made from 6063T-5 aluminum, a structural alloy chosen for straight runs, crisp edges and consistent channel tolerances. That matters when you are butting several lengths end to end along a ceiling cove: the profile stays true, the lens seats evenly, and the finished line of light reads as one continuous detail instead of a series of segments. Aluminum also does quiet work behind the scenes as a heat sink, drawing warmth away from the tape and helping your LED strip lighting hold its colour and brightness over the years. The white finish blends into painted ceilings, gyprock, white shaker cabinets and MDF trim, and if your colour is a custom one, the profile can be painted to match your decor.

Installation and mounting options
This LED aluminum channel is designed to be easy to install, whichever way your project goes: it can be surface-mounted with screws, suspended, or glued directly to a surface for quick, fastener-free runs on melamine or glass shelving. The ordering guide for the 85 Series lets you specify the pieces that finish the job — lens in opaque or black, standard or swivel mounting, and endcaps with no hole, with hole, or one of each so the low-voltage lead exits cleanly at one end. A tip from the field: dry-fit your full run first, mark your mounting points every few feet, then feed the strip and snap the lens on last so you never scratch it during installation. For runs longer than 8 feet, join sections end to end and keep your power feed and any splices at the endcap with the hole.

Strip compatibility and applications
The 13.2 mm channel accommodates and protects the majority of our LED strips, in single-colour white as well as RGB and RGBW colour-changing tapes, so you can use the same extrusion family across a whole job.
