The versatile 85 series
The 85 series is designed as a versatile LED extrusion: easy to install, ideal for residential or commercial projects, and suited to installation both indoors and outdoors. The profile is made of 6063-T5 aluminum and can be painted to match your decor, so the light line can blend into a coloured wall, a painted cabinet or a feature ceiling. The ordering guide lists plain aluminum, black, white and custom colours for the series, and this model number, LCPROF-85-8FT-LENS-OPAQ, is the 8 ft length with an opaque lens.
An opaque lens over your strip
The opaque lens closes the channel and gives the strip a finished look, whether the profile sits at eye level on a shelf or overhead on a ceiling. The series accommodates and protects the majority of LED strips of the range, so you keep full freedom over the light itself: a warm white LED strip for a cozy living room, a neutral white one for a closet or a pantry, or an RGB or RGBW strip for colour scenes in a basement bar or a games room.
Installation tips
The #85 can be surface mounted, suspended or glued. The ordering guide lists standard or swivel mounting, plus end caps without a hole, with a hole, or a pair with one of each. Before starting, clean the inside of the profile, measure the run, cut the LED strip only at its marked cut points and decide where the LED driver will sit. If you need more than 8 ft, the series is also offered in 16 ft, and custom fabrication reaches up to 192 inches. Any line-voltage connection should be made by a licensed electrician.
