What this endcap isThis is the closing piece for an aluminum channel used with
LED tape, in the #85 standard finishing style, white, with a hole. It is sold as a single unit, which means you order exactly what the job calls for rather than a fixed kit. One cap closes one end of the extrusion; the version with the hole is the one you place at the feed end, where the low-voltage wire, driver lead or strip-to-wire connector has to leave the profile. Paired with a solid cap at the opposite end, it completes the profile from both sides and turns a cut length of aluminum into a finished linear fixture.

Compatibility — read this before orderingEndcaps are
profile-specific. This one is made for the #85 channel family, so measure or identify your extrusion before you choose; a cap from another family will not seat flush and will not clip securely. If you are working with a different profile, the accessory range covers several sizes and styles for standard and deeper extrusions, including the
Finishing end cap #11 (with hole) and the matching
Finishing end cap #11 (no hole). For flexible
neon-style LED rope, the endcaps are different again — see the
Flex neon endcap 3x6 (with hole) or the
Flex neon endcap 6x6 (with hole) for those profiles.
Installation tips that save callbacksCut your channel to length first and clean the cut edge so the cap can seat properly — a quick deburr makes all the difference. Feed the wire through the hole before you press the cap onto the profile, never after. Push until the cap sits flush with the profile edge. If the channel is mounted overhead, in a stairwell or anywhere with traffic and vibration, a small drop of adhesive keeps the cap from working loose over time. Leave a short service loop of wire inside the channel so the cap can be pulled off later for maintenance without straining the connection, and dress the wire away from the LED tape so it does not shadow the diffuser.
Where it earns its keepThink of every place a light line has to end cleanly:
under-cabinet lighting in a kitchen, cove and ceiling details in a living room or hotel corridor, stair nosing and toe-kick lighting, backlit shelving, jewellery and retail display cases, reception desks and interior signage. In homes, offices and commercial fit-ups, an open channel end collects dust and shows the raw strip; capped, the run reads as a proper architectural detail. The white version is the easy choice on white ceilings, painted bulkheads and white lacquered millwork. Note that no separate spec sheet, IES file or video is offered for this accessory — the Documentation tab is empty, so rely on your channel's profile number to confirm the match.
