Black, diffused and compact
This configuration of the 85 series pairs a black aluminum body with an opaque lens in an 8 ft length. With the strip installed and the lens in place, you get a smooth line of light framed in black, without the row of bright dots of a bare strip. The shorter length makes it easy to handle in a kitchen, a bathroom or a closet, where runs are rarely very long.

A versatile aluminum profile
The 85 series is easy to install and ideal for residential or commercial projects. It can be mounted, suspended or glued to a surface, and these LED extrusions made of 6063-T5 aluminum can be installed indoors and outdoors. The profile accommodates a variety of white and coloured LED strips, RGB and RGBW included, and the aluminum can be painted to match your decor.

Ordering and installation tips
This SKU is the 8 ft standard length; the series also comes in 16 ft lengths, and custom fabrication up to 192 inches is available. The ordering guide lists a standard mounting and a swivel mounting for aiming the light, plus end caps with no hole, with a hole, or one of each. Compare your strip width with the technical drawing, plan the wire exit and the power supply location, clean the channel, stick the strip and fit the lens last. Line-voltage connections must be made by a licensed electrician, in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code.

Project ideas
Mount it under black upper cabinets for soft task lighting, under a floating vanity for a night-light effect, along the shelves of a home bar or inside a black display case in a boutique. Suspended above a small dining table or a desk, it becomes a discreet linear light. When a run is longer, the LED aluminum profile #85 in 16 ft, black with opaque lens covers more distance with fewer joints.
