A versatile profile in black
The 85 series is a versatile LED aluminum profile that is easy to install and ideal for residential or commercial projects. It is made of 6063-T5 aluminum, it can be installed both indoors and outdoors, and it can be painted to match your decor if your colour scheme changes one day. This version, LCPROF-85-8FT-BK-LENS-OPAQ-BK, is the black one: a natural choice when the profile stays in view on dark cabinets, black walls, charcoal ceilings or commercial fixtures, where a bright aluminum line would stand out.
Lens and LED strips
The ordering guide of the series lists two lenses, opaque or black, and this model number pairs the profile with an opaque black lens. The lens closes the channel over the strip and gives the profile the look of a complete fixture rather than an exposed strip. Inside, the 85 series accommodates and protects the majority of LED strips of the range: choose a white LED strip for task lighting on a counter or a workbench, or a colour RGB-RGBW strip for mood effects in a bar, a games room or a retail display.
Mounting and installation
The #85 can be surface mounted, suspended or glued, so it adapts to the underside of a cabinet, a shelf, a wall or a ceiling. The ordering guide also lists standard or swivel mounting, and end caps with or without a hole so the wire can exit neatly at the end of the run. Measure the run, cut your LED strip only at its marked cut points, and plan the location of the LED driver before you begin. Have any line-voltage connection made by a licensed electrician. Need a longer line? The series also exists in 16 ft, and custom fabrication is available up to 192 inches.
