Built from 6063T-5 aluminumThe 84 Series is an extruded
aluminum profile made from 6063T-5, an architectural alloy chosen for its straightness, rigidity and clean surface finish. That matters on long runs: the channel holds its line along a cabinet, a cove or a shelf without waving, and it gives the LED strip a solid, flat mounting surface instead of drywall or wood that may not be perfectly even. Aluminum also acts as a heat sink for the tape, which is why seasoned installers rarely run bare strip. This SKU,
LCPROF-84-8FT-BK, ships in the black finish and in an 8-foot length; the extrusion can also be painted to blend into your ceiling, millwork or accent wall.
The thinnest profile in the familyThis model was designed specifically for situations where space is limited. Its compact cross-section — 19.4 mm (0.767"), 16.5 mm (0.649") and 6.9 mm (0.272") per the technical drawing — lets you tuck a full
LED strip channel into reveals, shadow gaps, cabinet frames, stair nosings and display fixtures that would never accept a deeper extrusion. Less bulk also means a cleaner architectural look: you see the light, not the hardware.

Strip compatibility and installationThe 84 Series accommodates and protects the majority of our
LED strips, in single-colour white as well as
RGB and RGBW colour-changing tape, so you can specify one channel family across a whole project. Plan your layout first: measure the run, cut the extrusion to length, then position the strip so solder points and the power feed land where the endcap with a hole (WH) can pass the wire discreetly; use a no-hole endcap (NH) at the closed end, or order PA to get one of each. Standard mounting keeps the fixing method familiar for any electrician or cabinetmaker, and the opaque or black lens options let you choose between softening the diodes into a continuous line or hiding the channel against a dark finish. Because our extrusions are suitable for indoor and outdoor installation, the same detail works in a kitchen and under a covered soffit.
Where it gets used, and what else to look atHomeowners reach for this
LED aluminum channel for under-cabinet task lighting, pantry and closet shelving, vanity mirrors, cove ceilings, toe-kicks, floating stair treads and headboards. Contractors and small businesses use it for retail display cases, jewellery and bakery counters, reception desks, office feature walls, signage and gym or restaurant accent lines. For longer uninterrupted runs, the
LED aluminum profile #84 in 16 ft black reduces the number of joints; the
LED aluminum profile #84 in 16 ft white blends into pale ceilings, and the
LED aluminum profile #84 16 ft black with opaque lens arrives with the diffuser already specified. The complete technical PDF, including the drawing and the full ordering guide for colour, lens, mounting and endcaps, is in the Documentation tab.
