Built for damp and protected outdoor spaces
This CDNLUX strip (model MTL-FP8AEIWM-60AXX) is an IP67 outdoor LED strip designed for dry and humid environments, indoor and protected outdoor use. The silicone coating shields the circuit from splashes, humidity and dust, which is what you need under an awning, along a soffit, inside a gazebo or around a garden bed. It is not intended for pool lighting or continuous submersion. The flexible board is a 2-ounce copper circuit, a heavier copper weight that helps carry current cleanly over the full 5-metre run, and the back is finished with a 3M self-adhesive backing for fast mounting on clean, flat surfaces. Operating temperature range is 40C to -10C.
Light quality you can actually live with
The Epistar 3528 SMD chips are spread at 60 LEDs per meter for a smooth, even line rather than a row of visible dots, and the 120° lighting angle washes surfaces wide. Typical output is 400 lumens per meter in 3000K warm white — the cozy, lantern-like tone people want on a deck or terrace — with a CRI 80+ that keeps wood grain, stone and painted finishes looking natural after dark. Luminous flux will vary slightly depending on the Kelvin degrees chosen within the family. At 4.8W/m, a full 5-metre roll stays modest on power while replacing much thirstier halogen accent lighting.

Wiring, dimming and installation
This is a 24V DC strip, which is the smarter choice when runs get long: voltage drop is far less noticeable than on 12V, so brightness stays consistent from the first LED to the last and you can add lead wire where the power supply cannot sit right next to the strip. Each roll includes a female DC plug (17cm) on one end and 2 wires (17cm) on the other, ready for your connection. Size your driver using the recommended 6W/m figure for the length actually installed. The strip is dimmable either with a low-voltage dimmer/remote combo on the DC side, or with a dimmable power supply controlled by a 120V AC dimmer on the wall. You can cut it every 6 LEDs (100mm) at the marked points to match a stair, a shelf or a sign. Heat dissipation is not necessary, unless the strip is used in a commercial environment, where mounting in an aluminum channel is the safer habit.
Where it earns its keep — and the paperwork
Homeowners use this outdoor LED strip under deck railings and stair nosings, along pergola beams, inside a covered porch ceiling or as garden and pathway accent lighting; contractors run it in soffits, cove details and under counters; small businesses use it for outdoor sign lights, window displays, restaurant terraces and shelving. It suits both residential and commercial projects, and the cULus listing keeps inspectors comfortable on jobs across Canada.
