Built for steady 24-volt duty
The PWR24V5A is a plug-and-play 24V transformer housed in a compact metal-style enclosure that measures 17 cm long, 7 cm wide and 4 cm high. Its job is simple and it does it well: take standard 120V AC from a wall receptacle through the included power cable, and deliver a stable 24V DC output to the equipment you connect. Because everything arrives together — one power supply and one power cable — there's no hunting for an adapter or a cord before you can test your load on the bench.
Output, capacity and what Class 1 really means
With 4.75 amps available at 24 volts, this unit tops out at 114 watts, which puts it above the ceiling allowed for Class 2 wiring. That's the whole point of a Class 1 power supply: more available output for devices that need it. It also means it is not suitable for LED strips. Low-voltage LED tape must be powered by a Class 2 transformer, because Class 2 units are built to respect specific maximum power limits — 60 watts at 12 volts and 96 watts at 24 volts — and those limits are what satisfy the electrical code's safety requirements for low-voltage installations. If your project is strip lighting, split the run across Class 2 drivers instead. If your 24V device is not a strip and calls for more current, this is the supply for the job.

Installation and practical tips
Mount the supply where it can breathe — inside a cabinet, above a ceiling access panel, in a service cavity or on a shelf in a mechanical room — and keep it dry and away from direct heat. Add up the wattage of everything you plan to connect and leave yourself a margin rather than running right at the limit; a supply that isn't working flat out simply lives an easier life. Since this model is not dimmable, control should be handled on the load side or with a separate switched circuit rather than by a wall dimmer on the 120V input. And because it's cULus certified for Canada and the USA, it's a listing you can show an inspector on residential or commercial work.
Where it gets used, and documentation
Contractors and business owners reach for a supply like this for 24V equipment in retail displays, counters and showrooms, workshop and garage installations, signage, and commercial fixtures in offices, clinics and restaurants — anywhere a smaller adapter runs out of amps. Homeowners renovating a basement or a garage use it the same way, tucked out of sight and left to run.
