The SOB10 - 24V 2.5M IP20 2216-SOB Single Color LED Strip - 320 LEDs/m (Strip Only) is the new generation of LED strip lighting — what people also call LED strip lights, LED light strips, LED tape or simply ruban LED. Built with SOB (solder-on-board) technology and an ultra-dense chip layout, it throws a smooth, continuous line of warm light instead of a row of visible dots. It's the strip you reach for when the light itself is part of the design: under kitchen cabinets, inside coves and ceiling recesses, along shelving, stair nosings, closets, reception desks and retail displays. Every detail is made for a clean install. The strip runs on 24V DC, draws 15W per meter and delivers a generous 1700 lumens per meter in a soft 2700K warm white, with a CRI 90+ that makes wood, paint, food and skin tones look true. Chip density is 320 LEDs per meter (Epistar 2216 SOB) over a 3-ounce circuit board, with a wide 180° beam angle and a rated life of 50 000+ hours. It measures 10 mm wide and only 2.5 mm high, and — this is the game changer — it can be cut every 6.25 mm, so your run ends exactly where your profile ends, with no dark tail. It's dimmable with a low-voltage dimmer/remote combo or with a dimmable power supply paired with a 120V AC dimmer, carries a 3M self-adhesive backing and is cULus certified for Canada and the USA (E498952).

Reel-to-reel construction you can feel
The 2216-SOB is built on a continuous reel-to-reel manufacturing process, which means far fewer solder joints along the run. Fewer joints translate into better long-term reliability, more uniform conductivity, less risk of a connection failing mid-run and a more consistent light output from one end of the strip to the other — plus a cleaner, more professional finish once it's in the channel. The 3-ounce circuit board carries current with less voltage drop stress, and the Epistar 2216 SOB chips sit under a continuous coating that diffuses the light instead of letting it escape as individual points.

Wiring, dimming and installation
The strip arrives with 2 wires (1 meter) on one end and 2 wires (1 meter) on the other end, so you can feed it from either side or run power through to a second section without fighting with tiny connectors. Feed it from a 24V DC power supply sized at 18W per meter of strip to leave healthy headroom. For dimming, you have two clean paths: a low-voltage dimmer/remote combo installed after the driver, or a dimmable power supply controlled by a 120V AC wall dimmer. Heat management is not optional — the strip must be installed on a heat-dissipating surface or inside an appropriate aluminum channel, which also protects it and improves the visual finish. Cut only on the marked points, every 6.25 mm, and always cut with power disconnected.
