Built for LED strip lighting, not borrowed from something else
Not every adapter is made to run a lighting circuit for hours every day. The PWR24V4A from LED MONTREAL was designed specifically to provide stable and reliable power for LED strips, which is exactly what you want when a long run of tape light sits at eye level under a cabinet or along a staircase. A steady, regulated supply is what keeps whites looking even across the whole run and keeps colours consistent on RGB and RGBW installations. It is a compact unit that stays out of sight inside a cabinet, a ceiling cavity or a millwork void, and it comes with its own power cable so there is nothing else to source before you start.

Electrical and installation details
Installation is about as simple as lighting gets: the 120V AC cable plugs into a standard household outlet, and the 24V output side feeds your strip circuit. Because it is a Class 2 low-voltage supply, you are working on the safe, approachable side of the job — ideal for a homeowner tackling a weekend under-cabinet project, and fast for a contractor wiring a whole millwork package. Plan your outlet location first: inside a base cabinet, above a drop ceiling, behind a headboard or near an existing power receptacle in a basement. Leave the unit some breathing room rather than burying it in insulation, and keep the connection points accessible in case you ever add a controller or a second run. The cULus listing for Canada and the USA means it is recognized for use on both sides of the border, which matters when an inspector walks your commercial jobsite.
Compatibility and controllers
This power supply works with 24V LED strips — single colour, RGB and RGBW — and delivers up to 96W of output. Watch your load: add up the wattage per metre or per foot of your strip, multiply by your total length, and stay comfortably under 96W. Overloading the unit will damage it. Just as important, upgrading to a larger power supply does not automatically let you run a longer continuous strip circuit; every strip has a maximum run length before voltage drop dulls the far end or shifts the colour, so read your strip's own description and split long runs into separate home-run circuits when needed. Since this model is not dimmable on its own, dimming a single colour strip or changing colours and effects on an RGB or RGBW strip is done by adding a compatible LED controller wired between the power supply and the strip.
Applications and documentation
Think kitchen under-cabinet and toe-kick lighting, pantry and closet shelving, cove lighting in a living room, a bathroom mirror or vanity glow, staircase and hallway accents, garage workbenches and basement renovations. On the commercial side: retail display cases and shelving, bar backs, restaurant counters, reception desks, salon stations and office feature walls — anywhere a discreet LED driver can hide while the light does the talking.
