Five colours in one chip
What makes this RGB+W CCT LED strip different is the chip itself: an Epistar 5050 RGB+W CCT SMD 5-in-1 module that carries Red, Green, Blue, a 2400K white and a 6500K white in the same package. Instead of blending RGB to approximate white, the strip fires its dedicated white emitters and mixes them to land anywhere from a candle-like 2400K to a crisp 6500K, while the RGB side handles the saturated colour scenes. With 60 LEDs per meter and 300 chips over 5 meters, the light stays even along the run, and the 120° beam angle spreads it wide enough to bounce nicely off a cove, a ceiling or the underside of a cabinet.
Build quality and light output
The flexible circuit board uses 2 ounces of copper, which moves heat away from the diodes and helps the strip hold its output over time — LED MONTREAL rates it at 50 000+ hours. Typical luminous flux is 400 lumens per meter and will vary slightly with the Kelvin setting you choose, and the CRI 80+ keeps skin tones, wood grain and fabrics looking natural rather than washed out. The strip is 12mm wide and only 2mm high, so it tucks into shallow reveals, and the 3M self-adhesive backing makes dry-fitting quick before you commit. Heat dissipation matters: install the tape on a heat-dissipating surface or inside an appropriate aluminum channel, never directly on wood, plastic or drywall alone.

Wiring, dimming and compatibility
This is a 24V DC low-voltage strip, so it needs a 24V driver, not line voltage. Size the supply at the recommended 18W/m for the length you actually install, and add headroom if you are running several sections from one feed. Six 17cm wires are pre-soldered on each end, which lets you feed from either side or continue a run with an extension without soldering on site. Because the strip carries five channels, it must be driven by a 5-in-1 RGB+CCT low-voltage controller and remote — that combo is also what dims it, from party-bright to a soft glow. Cuts are made every 6 LEDs, at the 100mm marks and only on the marked copper pads; any cut section still works as long as all channels are reconnected in the same order.
Where to use it and documentation
Think ceiling coves in a living room, a warm low-Kelvin glow over a kitchen island at night and a cooler white for prep work, colour-washed shelving in a boutique, a bar front that turns red on game night, or a home theatre soffit that fades to deep blue when the movie starts. In commercial spaces it works beautifully for reception desks, display cases, restaurant banquettes and salon mirrors. Keep it strictly indoors and dry — the iP20 rating means no bathrooms showers, no outdoor eaves, no unheated garages exposed to moisture.
