Built for a clean, even line of light
The 24V 5M IP20 3014 WHITE LED STRIP uses Epistar 3014 SMD chips at a density of 120 LEDs per meter — 600 LEDs over the full 5-metre roll. That tight spacing is what softens the "dotting" effect you get from cheaper, sparse tapes, especially when the strip sits close to a surface or behind a diffuser. Underneath, a 2-ounce copper circuit board carries current with less resistance and helps pull heat away from the diodes, which supports the rated 50 000+ hours of service. The ribbon measures 10mm wide and just 2mm high, so it slips into narrow coves, cabinet reveals and slim extrusions without telegraphing its presence.
Light quality you can live with
This version is 2700K Warm White — the cosy, incandescent-style tone people want above kitchen counters, in living rooms and in hospitality spaces. Typical output is 1000 lumens per meter, spread over a 120° lighting angle for a broad, even wash rather than a narrow beam. With a CRI of 80+, woodgrain, backsplash tile, paint and merchandise keep their true character instead of looking washed out. Note that typical luminous flux varies slightly depending on the Kelvin degrees chosen across the family; the value above applies to this warm white version.

Wiring, dimming and installation
Running on 24V DC means longer runs with less voltage drop than a 12V tape, a real advantage on long counters, coves and corridors. Each roll arrives with a female DC plug (17cm) on one end and 2 wires (17cm) on the other, so you can plug into a matching driver or hard-wire into a junction. Size your driver from the 14.4W/m recommendation, not the 12W/m draw, to leave headroom. The strip is dimmable two ways: a low voltage dimmer/remote combo on the DC side, or a dimmable power supply controlled by a 120V AC dimmer on the wall. Cut only on the marked points — every 6 LEDs (50mm) — and always install on a heat-dissipating surface or inside an appropriate aluminum channel; adhering tape to wood, drywall or plastic alone traps heat and shortens life. The 3M backing holds well on clean, dry, dust-free surfaces.
Where it works, and the paperwork
Because it is rated iP20, this strip is for dry indoor locations only: under-cabinet task lighting, toe-kick and stair accents, cove and tray ceilings, closet and pantry shelving, bar fronts, retail vitrines, display cases, office reception desks and signage backlighting. Contractors appreciate that it is cULus certified for Canada and the USA under file E498952, which keeps inspectors comfortable on both sides of the border — handy for projects specified out of a Canadian office but installed stateside.
