Built for big jobs, cut for small details
This is a full 25-meter roll of flexible LED tape in the classic 3528 format, supplied in bulk without connectors. That bare-roll approach is exactly what makes it so useful: you decide where every cut goes, so a kitchen island, a stair nosing and a pantry shelf can all come off the same roll with almost no leftover. The strip is 8 mm wide and 2 mm high, slim enough to disappear inside a channel, behind a valance or under a cabinet lip, and it can be cut every 6 LEDs (50 mm) at the marked cut points. A 3M self-adhesive backing on the reverse holds it in place on clean, dry, smooth surfaces.
Light quality you can live with
The Epistar 3528 SMD chips are packed at 120 LEDs per meter, which means the individual diodes blend into a smooth line rather than a row of dots — especially once the strip sits in a diffused channel. Typical output is 800 lumens per meter with a 120° beam angle, and the 2700K warm white tone is the cosy, incandescent-like colour most people want in living rooms, bedrooms and hospitality spaces. With a CRI of 80+, colours stay honest: wood grain, backsplash tile and merchandise all read the way they should. Rated at 50 000+ hours, it is a set-and-forget light source.

Wiring, dimming and installation
The strip runs on 24V DC, so it needs a low-voltage power supply sized to the length you install: figure 12W per meter of strip. Because the maximum transformer power here is 96W, the maximum recommended run is 8 meters per section (96W ÷ 12W/m) — never energize the full 25 m as one continuous line. For longer walls, feed several sections from the driver rather than chaining one endless run. Dimming works two ways: a low-voltage dimmer/remote combo on the DC side, or a dimmable power supply paired with a 120V AC dimmer. Connectors are not included, so plan on solderless clips or soldered leads. Heat dissipation is not strictly necessary, but installing the tape in an aluminum channel or on a heat-dissipating surface is strongly recommended — it protects output over time and gives you a finished, professional look with a diffuser instead of visible dots.
Where it works and what you get
Think under-cabinet and over-cabinet kitchen lighting, cove and tray ceilings, basement renovations, staircase accents, closet and pantry shelving, bathroom vanity surrounds (in dry locations only, since this is IP20), home theatre risers, retail shelving and display cases, bar and restaurant backlighting, reception desks and office millwork. In Canadian homes, a warm 2700K line hidden in a channel is one of the fastest ways to make a renovated space feel finished.
