Dot-free light, built thinCOB stands for Chip On Board: instead of spaced-out diodes, hundreds of tiny chips sit under a continuous phosphor layer, which is why this
COB LED strip produces one unbroken line of light. At 8 mm wide and only 2 mm thick, it disappears into shallow reveals, cabinet toe-kicks and slim aluminum channels where a standard 10 mm tape simply will not fit. The 3-ounce copper circuit board is a real advantage on long runs: more copper means better current distribution and better heat management, which protects colour consistency from one end of the roll to the other. A 3M self-adhesive backing is pre-applied so you can position and press the strip in place in minutes.
Light quality you can seeThis SKU is the
3000K Warm White version — the cosy, inviting tone most homeowners choose for kitchens, living rooms and bedrooms. With a CRI of 90+, colours stay accurate and skin tones look natural, which matters in bathrooms, closets, retail displays and anywhere you judge colour. Typical output is 900 lumens per metre with a 98.4° lighting angle, giving a wide, even wash rather than a narrow hot spot. Heat dissipation is not strictly necessary, but installing the strip on a heat-dissipating surface or inside an appropriate aluminum channel is recommended for the longest, most stable performance over its 50 000+ hour lifespan.

Wiring, dimming and installationThe roll arrives ready to connect: a female DC plug (15 cm) on one end lets you plug straight into a plug-in transformer, while two wires (15 cm) on the other end let an electrician hard-wire it to a low-voltage supply. Size your driver using the 12W/m recommendation for the length you actually install. Dimming works two ways: a low-voltage dimmer/remote combo on the 24V side, or a dimmable power supply controlled by a 120V AC dimmer on the line side. The strip can be cut every 50 mm along the marked cut lines; because no quick connector is available for the 8 mm format, extension wires must be soldered, as shown in the product images. Keep the tape at 24V DC only, and remember the iP20 rating means dry, indoor locations — not showers, soffits or outdoor use.
Where to use it, and what to pair it withThink under upper cabinets to light a countertop without glare, inside a cove for indirect ceiling light, along floating shelves, under a vanity, in a wardrobe, behind a TV wall, or along a stair stringer in a basement finish. Contractors use it for restaurant bar fronts, boutique shelving, reception desks and office millwork where a visible dot pattern would look unfinished. For a crisp architectural result, mount it in the
8 feet interior aluminum U shape profile for LED strip (LUX710) and add its Premium Diffuser: the finished assembly stays under 6 mm thick while the channel doubles as a heat sink and protects the tape. The complete technical PDF for this
