Capacity in a small package
This hardwired LED driver combines a healthy output with a housing small enough to conceal in cabinetry, behind a bulkhead valance or inside a display base. The two molded mounting brackets built into the body make it easy to screw to wood or another solid surface, keeping it firmly in place and away from anything that could snag the wiring. Two distinct screw-in ports, one dedicated to the AC supply and one to the DC output, make it obvious which conductor goes where and keep the installation tidy for years of easy servicing.
Planning the load and the installation
The output is 12V DC, rated at 48W (4A). When designing your layout, add up the wattage of every strip segment that will connect to the driver and keep the total well below the 48W rating; leaving that headroom is the recommended practice for optimal performance and cooler operation. Because it is hardwired into line voltage instead of being plugged into a power receptacle, installation should be made by a qualified professional in accordance with your local building code. The driver is for indoor use only, in a dry location.
Compatible strips and dimming options
This 12V LED strip driver supplies single-colour 12V strips as well as RGB LED strips. For RGB, install an RGB controller between the driver and the strip to manage colours and effects. The driver is not compatible with AC dimmers, so it should never be placed behind a conventional wall dimmer. To get adjustable brightness on a single-colour strip, add a low-voltage DC dimmer on the output, between the driver and the LEDs. Confirm that every strip and accessory on the output is rated for 12V DC.

Light every upper and lower cabinet in a large kitchen from one driver hidden above the uppers.
