Dotless COB construction built for heatUnlike a traditional SMD strip where you can count every diode, this
COB LED strip (Chip On Board) spreads its light across a continuous phosphor line, so what you see is one clean bar of light — no dots, no shadow stripes, no hot spots on the wood above the bench. The flexible board is only
10mm wide and 5mm thick, which is why it hides so easily in a 12mm groove, under a bench lip or behind a trim board. A
3-ounce copper circuit board carries the current and pulls heat away from the emitters, and heat dissipation is included in the strip itself — you do not need an aluminum extrusion to keep it alive. That matters in a sauna, where the strip is asked to operate in an environment that reaches up to
95C (and down to -20C on the cold end of the range).
Light quality you can feelThe output is
940 lumens per metre typical, at
3500K Soft White — a neutral-warm tone that keeps cedar, hemlock and thermo-treated wood looking rich rather than orange. With a
CRI of 90+, colours stay honest: towels, tiles, stone and skin all read naturally, which is exactly what you want in a room designed for relaxation. The
98.4° beam angle gives a wide, even spread, so a single run under a bench or along a cove lights the whole surface without scalloping. This is also the reason designers use this strip outside the sauna: it makes a beautiful under-cabinet, toe-kick or shelf light anywhere you want a continuous line.

Wiring, dimming and installationThe strip arrives with
2 wires (1 meter) on one end and 2 wires (1 meter) on the other end, so you can feed it from either side or run power through to a second section without fishing new leads. It is cut-friendly every
50mm, and extension wires can be soldered directly onto the connection pads — the cleanest, most reliable method for a hot, humid room. Power it from a
24V DC supply sized at the recommended
12W/m, and always keep the driver, dimmer and any connections outside the sauna cabin, in a cool, dry, accessible spot. Dimming works two ways: a low-voltage dimmer/remote combo on the 24V side, or a dimmable power supply controlled by a 120V AC dimmer — perfect for dropping the light to a candle-like level during a session. Note that this sauna COB strip is offered in white only; RGB and RGBW versions are not suitable for high-temperature environments.
Applications, options and documentationThink bench underlighting in a cedar barrel or cabin sauna, a backlit backrest, a perimeter cove in a steam room, a glow under the door threshold, a wellness suite in a hotel or gym, a treatment room in a spa, or simply a slim continuous line in a bathroom, closet or display case. For longer runs — a full ceiling perimeter, two benches, or a commercial installation — the same product is available as the
24V 5M IP67 10mm COB LED strip for sauna - white. The technical PDF for this family is available in the Documentation tab of this page: download it before you cut, and check your wire routing and power supply location with your electrician.
