Built for short runs of LED tape
Not every lighting job needs a big driver. When you're feeding a metre or two of tape under a kitchen cabinet, along a floating shelf, inside a pantry or behind a headboard, a compact plug-in unit like this 24V power supply is exactly the right tool. It arrives as a small sealed transformer box with a 120V AC power cable, so the whole installation comes down to connecting your LED strip leads to the output and plugging the cord into a standard outlet. The box measures 11.5 cm long, 5 cm wide and 3 cm high — easy to hide in a cabinet toe-kick, a soffit cavity, a bookshelf back panel or behind a media console.
Clean, steady power means clean, steady light
An LED driver or power supply does more than turn the lights on: it stabilizes the voltage your diodes receive. A properly matched unit keeps brightness consistent along the run and protects the strip from the flicker and premature failure that come with unstable power. With a 24V 1.5A 36W output, the PWR24V36W gives short runs the headroom they need while staying small and discreet. Because it's cULus certified for Canada and the USA, you're installing a component that has been tested to recognized North American safety standards — an important detail for rental units, commercial spaces and anything an inspector might look at.

Compatibility and sizing
This unit powers Single Colour, RGB and RGBW 24V LED strips. The golden rule is voltage matching: a 24V supply feeds 24V tape, full stop. Next comes load. Every LED strip lists an amperage (or wattage) per metre in its own description — multiply that figure by the number of metres you plan to connect and keep the total under the 1.5A this supply provides. Going over will damage the unit, so when a run grows, step up to a larger power supply instead. The PWR24V36W is not dimmable by itself, but you can insert a compatible controller between the supply and the tape to dim single-colour strips or to change colours, scenes and effects on RGB and RGBW strips.
Where it earns its keep, and what comes with it
Homeowners use it for under-cabinet LED lighting strips in the kitchen, accent light in a basement bar, closet and pantry lighting, bathroom vanity glow or a strip behind the TV. Contractors keep a few on the truck to finish millwork, reception desks and display cabinets without pulling new circuits. Retailers and small businesses use it for shelf lighting, jewellery cases, menu boards and window displays. Because it plugs into an existing receptacle, it's ideal for finished spaces where opening walls isn't an option — just plan your outlet location before the cabinets go in. Full details are available in the technical PDF in the Documentation tab of this page; keep it with your project file for future reference or for the next strip you decide to add.
