Built small, built to last
This is a 0.3 meter piece of flexible circuit board carrying Epistar 5050 RGB SMD chips at 60 LEDs per meter, protected to iP65+ so dust and splashes are not a problem. At 12mm wide and only 4.25mm high, it disappears into coves, reveals, cabinet undersides and shelf edges where a bulkier fixture would never fit. The 3M self-adhesive backing on the reverse means you press it into place and you are done — clean the surface first, dry it well, then apply firm pressure along the whole run for a bond that holds. Rated for 50 000+ hours of life and an operating range of 40C to -10C, it handles Canadian basements, garages and three-season rooms as long as the location stays dry, humid or protected outdoors.
Colour you actually control
RGB stands for red, green and blue. Each 5050 chip carries all three emitters, and by mixing their levels you can produce an enormous number of shades — the real number depends on the RGB controller and remote you choose. The 120° lighting angle spreads colour evenly across a wall or a backsplash instead of throwing hot dots, which is exactly what you want for accent work. One honest caution: an RGB chip does not create a true white, so if a clean white is part of the plan, run a dedicated white LED strip alongside it or choose an RGBW product instead. The strip is dimmable, but only with a low voltage controller/remote combo — standard wall dimmers are not the right tool here.
Wiring and installation
The strip runs on 12V DC and draws 14.4W per meter, so size your driver generously: the recommended power supply is 18W per meter, which leaves headroom and keeps the supply cool. Four wires (30cm) are already attached to one end — red, green, blue and the common — ready to land on an RGB controller. You can shorten the run by cutting on the marked points every 3 LEDs (50mm); always cut on the pads and never in between. Heat dissipation is not necessary for this length, but installing the strip on a heat-dissipating surface or inside an appropriate aluminum channel is recommended: it protects the tape, tidies the look and diffuses the dots into a smoother line.

Where to use it, and what to read next
Concrete examples: a colour wash behind a bathroom mirror, an accent under a kitchen island, a glow along a stair stringer, a strip inside a glass display cabinet in a boutique, a band of colour under a bar counter, or cabin lighting in a boat or RV getting ready for a party — just not on the outside of that boat or vehicle. It suits both residential and commercial projects, and the small 30cm format is perfect for testing a colour scheme before committing to longer runs. The full technical spec sheet for this RGB LED strip is available in the Documentation tab, with the complete chip, voltage, iP rating and certification details to hand to an electrician or an inspector.
