Discreet by design
The #86 is a recessed LED profile designed to make the light source invisible: set into a groove, it keeps the LED strip within the thickness of the material instead of on top of it. In white, the profile nearly vanishes against white cabinets, white ceilings and painted millwork, so the only thing people notice is the light. Its compact form factor permits a wide range of uses, in homes as well as in commercial spaces such as boutiques, clinics, salons and offices.
Aluminum that protects the strip
Made of 6063-T5 aluminum, this extruded aluminum profile holds the LED strip straight and protects it along the whole run. It accommodates a wide variety of white and colour strips, including RGB and RGBW LED strips, so you can pick a warm white for a living room, a neutral white for a kitchen or a colour-changing strip for a bar. The profile can be installed indoors or outdoors, and it can be painted to match your decor.
Installation tips
Plan the groove with the technical drawing of the spec sheet, which gives the dimensions of the section in millimetres and inches, and test-fit the profile before the final installation. Clear the dust out of the groove before setting the profile, and keep the connection points of the strip easy to reach for future service. Decide where the wires will come out and where the LED power supply will go, in an accessible spot. Outdoors, choose an LED strip made for the location. For a longer line, the series offers 16 ft lengths and custom fabrication up to 192 inches. Have any line-voltage connection done by a licensed electrician.
