Integrated light, invisible source
The #86 belongs to the family of recessed LED profiles: instead of sitting on a surface, it goes into it. It was designed to make the light source invisible, and with the opaque lens in place, what remains is a soft line of light rather than a row of bright dots. Its compact form factor permits a wide range of uses, from millwork and cabinetry to shelving, stairs and display furniture, in homes as well as in shops, restaurants and offices.
A profile that follows your design
This version, LCPROF-86-8FT-LENS-OPAQ, pairs the profile with the opaque lens in an 8 ft length. The 86 series is offered in aluminum, black or white, and the profile can be painted to match your decor, a real advantage when the line of light has to disappear into a wall colour or a custom cabinet finish. Made of 6063-T5 aluminum, it holds and protects the LED strip over its whole length and accommodates white as well as RGB and RGBW strips.
Indoor or outdoor installation
The 86 series can be installed indoors and outdoors. Inside, cut the groove in a shelf, a panel or a stair wall following the technical drawing, which gives the dimensions of the section in millimetres and inches. Outside, pair the profile with an LED strip rated for the location and keep the connections protected. In both cases, plan the wire path and an accessible spot for the LED power supply, and have any line-voltage connection made by a licensed electrician. Need a longer line? The series offers 16 ft lengths and custom fabrication up to 192 inches.

Applications and documentation
A walk-in closet in Winnipeg, a bathroom vanity niche in Kelowna, a bar front in Vancouver, a stairway in a Saskatoon home: the #86 adapts to each of them and turns a simple LED strip into built-in linear lighting. The spec sheet (PDF), with the technical drawing and the complete feature list, is available in the Documentation tab, so your contractor, cabinetmaker or electrician can plan the groove and the wiring before the first cut.
