What this accessory isThe
AST LENS FOR 10W - SP15 is a beam-shaping optic, not a luminaire. It is the SP15 spot lens of the AST accessory family, designed to be fitted to the 10W AST track head so the light output is concentrated into a narrow accent beam. Nothing else in the fixture changes: the LED module, the driver and the housing stay exactly as they are. That is the whole point of a lens system — one track head, several looks, decided on site instead of at the ordering stage.
Light quality and beam controlA narrow
spot optic is what separates flat, general lighting from real accent lighting. Instead of spilling light across a whole wall, the beam lands where you aim it, so contrast does the selling: a painting reads brighter than its surroundings, a jewellery case sparkles, a bottle display pops, a textured wall gains depth. In a boutique or a showroom, that contrast ratio is worth more than extra wattage — you get drama without adding fixtures and without adding load to the circuit.

Installation and compatibilityBecause it is an optic only, installation is a no-tools-required, no-electrician-required affair in most cases: cut the power to the track, remove the head's existing optic, seat the SP15 lens, and re-aim. There is no rewiring, no driver swap and no dimming change to worry about — whatever control you already have on the circuit keeps working the same way. It is specific to the
10W AST track head, so match the wattage before ordering; a lens from a different family or a different wattage will not seat properly. On the rail side, the AST heads run on the AST H-type single-circuit 120V tracks, available in 2 ft, 4 ft, 6 ft, 8 ft and 12 ft lengths in white and black, including the
AST track 6 ft H type white, the
AST track 12 ft H type white and the
AST track 4 ft H type black.
Real-world applications and documentationThink of the lens as a layout tool. A clothing boutique uses spot optics over mannequins and wider optics over the folded-goods tables. A café puts a tight beam on the pastry case and leaves the seating area softer. A gallery re-lenses the whole
track lighting run every time the exhibition changes. At home, the same trick highlights a sculpture, a stair wall or a kitchen island without turning the room into an office. Contractors love that flexibility: one SKU of track head on the quote, lenses adjusted at walk-through when the client finally decides where the art goes. No spec sheet, IES file or video is currently posted for this accessory; if you need to confirm the fit with a particular AST head, note your head's wattage and finish before ordering so the optic matches the fixture on site.
