Built for real installsThe ASTELLA series
track head is a cylinder-style directional luminaire with an adjustable head, mounted on an adapter that twists into a ceiling-mounted rail. The head tilts and rotates so you can re-aim the beam any time the layout changes, and the black finish of AST-TRH-J-10W-MK5-120-D-MF-BK keeps it visually quiet against dark ceilings, exposed structures and matte black hardware. At 2.17 x 5.51 inches, this 10W model is the smallest of the family, which makes it the natural pick when several heads share one short rail and you don't want a row of bulky cans overhead.
Light you choose on siteThe back of the head carries a
5CCT colour selectable switch: five colour temperatures, one SKU. Flip it before you lock the adapter into the track and the same head can read warm and cozy in a living room or bright and clean in a retail aisle. That flexibility is gold for contractors — one box on the van covers the client who changes their mind, and every head on the run can be set identically for a consistent look, or split between zones.

Wiring and mounting, step by stepInstallation follows a clean sequence: shut the power at the breaker or remove the fuse (a wall switch alone is not enough), attach the mount plate to the J-box and connect black to hot, white to neutral and green to ground. Tuck the wires back into the box, mark and drill for the toggle bolts, place the track channel on the mounting plate, tighten the toggle bolts and the two mounting-plate screws, then fit the connection terminal in the correct single-pin/double-pin orientation and slip the canopy cover over the J-box. To install the head itself, hold the adapter with your thumb on the spring-loaded locking tab, make sure the tab sits directly opposite the
polarity line (the indentation in the rail), push the adapter into the track and rotate it a quarter turn counter-clockwise. Always disconnect power before adding heads or changing the configuration, never energize anything other than track luminaires on the rail, and let the fixture cool at least 5 minutes before touching it — the housing gets hot when powered.
Where it works and what it pairs withThink boutique shelving, a gallery wall, a restaurant's feature bar, a hair salon station, an office reception, or a home where a single rail replaces four separate
pot lights without cutting the ceiling apart. Because it's a
J-type single-circuit head, mix wattages along one rail: the
AST track light head 20W black and the
AST track light head 35W black handle higher ceilings and longer throws, while the
AST track light head 20W white matches white ceilings. Full details, dimensions and the installation diagram are in the spec sheet available in the Documentation tab of this page.
