Built for long, clean runs
This is a continuous 10-meter roll, not several short pieces you have to join. The flexible circuit board is 12mm wide and just 5mm high, with a 2-ounce copper circuit board that helps carry current and manage heat over a long run. The iP67 encapsulation seals the 5050 RGB chips against dust and moisture, which is why this led strip lighting is rated for dry and humid environments, indoor and protected outdoor use. The 3M self-adhesive backing lets you press the strip directly onto a clean, dry surface, and heat dissipation is not necessary unless the strip is used in a commercial environment, where an aluminum channel is the smart move.
Colour, not just light
Each Epistar 5050 RGB SMD chip holds a red, a green and a blue emitter. By mixing those three at different levels, the strip produces a huge range of colours — how many exactly depends on the RGB controller you choose. The 120° lighting angle spreads that colour wide and smooth, ideal for coves, valances and backlighting where you do not want visible dots of light. One thing to keep in mind: an RGB chip does not create a true white. If you want both colour effects and a clean ambient white on the same run, plan for an RGBW solution instead, or add a separate white strip alongside this one.

Electrical and installation notes
The strip runs on 24V DC, so you need a low voltage power supply sized for your run: at 7.2W/m consumption, the recommended sizing is 9W/m, which gives the driver headroom. An RGB controller with remote sits between the power supply and the strip and handles both the colours and the dimming. Connections are already made easy: a 4 pin male connector (17cm) is fitted on one end and a 4 pin female connector (17cm) on the other. You can shorten the strip at the marked cut points every 6 LEDs (165.5mm) — cut only on the line, and re-seal any cut end used outdoors. Wipe the mounting surface before sticking the 3M adhesive, and for ceilings, commercial installs or any surface where adhesive alone may let go over time, mount the strip in an aluminum profile with clips.
Where it works and what to read
Think gazebo perimeters, covered patios and terraces, the awning of an RV, basement and garage ceilings, staircases, toe-kicks, home theatres, bar fronts, restaurant booths, retail shelving and window displays — anywhere a colour changing led strip adds mood without a renovation. Ten meters covers a large room perimeter or a long deck edge in one shot. With a rated 50 000+ hours of life and cULus certification for Canada and USA, it is a safe pick for both residential and commercial projects.
