black aluminum profile with an
opaque lens. Once the LED strip is in place and the lens installed, you see a continuous, softened line of light instead of a row of bright dots, which makes a big difference on glossy countertops, glass shelves and polished floors where bare LEDs would reflect. The black frame outlines the light with a crisp, modern edge.
A versatile aluminum profileEasy to install and ideal for residential or commercial projects, the 85 series can be
mounted, suspended or glued to a surface. Made of 6063-T5 aluminum, these LED extrusions can be installed indoors and outdoors, and they can be painted to match your decor if you ever want a different colour. The profile accommodates a variety of
white and coloured LED strips, RGB and RGBW included, for functional lighting as well as colour accents.
Installation and orderingThis SKU is the
16 ft standard length; the series also comes in 8 ft lengths, and custom fabrication up to 192 inches is available for runs that must fit exactly. The ordering guide offers a standard mounting or a
swivel mounting for aiming the light, and end caps with no hole, with a hole, or one of each. Measure your run, check the strip width against the technical drawing, plan where the wire will exit, clean the channel, stick the strip, then fit the lens. Line-voltage connections should always be made by a licensed electrician in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code.
Where it shinesSuspended above a kitchen island or a conference table, it becomes a sleek
linear light. Mounted under cabinets, it provides soft
task lighting without harsh dots. In restaurants, bars and boutiques, it outlines shelving, bar backs and ceilings with a line that looks custom made. Outdoors, it can trace a covered terrace or a soffit, as long as the LED strip and connections are rated for the location. For shorter runs, the same configuration exists as the
LED aluminum profile #85 in 8 ft, black with opaque lens.
