What this end cap is forAn aluminum channel protects your LED tape, spreads the light through the lens and gets rid of that "bare strip stuck to the wall" look. But a cut extrusion always leaves two open ends, and open ends show the raw aluminum, the lens edge and, worse, the wire hanging out. This
finishing end cap #11 with hole closes one of those ends while giving the supply cable a clean exit point. Pair it with a solid cap at the far end and the whole run reads as one continuous, deliberate line of light instead of an unfinished DIY project.
Fit and compatibilityEnd caps are profile-specific, not universal. This one is made for the standard #11 profile shape and slides into the open end of that channel for a snug, flush fit. Before ordering, confirm the number stamped on or listed with your
LED extrusion — matching the cap to the channel is the whole game. For the same profile, the closing piece without an opening is the
Finishing end cap #11 (no hole); if your project uses a different standard profile, look at the
Finishing end cap #12 (no hole). Working with flexible neon rope instead of rigid channel? Then you want the neon family:
Flex neon endcap 3x6 (with hole) or
Flex neon endcap 6x6 (with hole), each with a matching no-hole version to close the far end.
Installation, step by stepMeasure and cut your channel to length first, then dry-fit it in place. Feed the strip's lead wire or the connector through the hole in the cap before you seat anything — doing it in the other order means pulling the cap back off. Press the cap squarely into the open end until it sits flush with the aluminum face. For overhead runs, ladders, closet interiors, shop benches or anywhere hands and brooms go by, add a small drop of adhesive on the inside edge; it holds firm but still lets you remove the cap later if you ever need to re-pull a wire or swap a driver lead. Keep the cable exit facing the wall or the back of the cabinet so the wire disappears from sight lines.
Where it earns its keepUnder kitchen cabinets, where the cap hides the cut edge right at eye level from the counter. In cove and tray ceilings, where the run has to look machine-made. In retail display cases and jewellery showcases, in illuminated signage, along reception desks and bar fronts, on stair nosings and in workshop task lighting. Contractors like them because they close a run in seconds; homeowners like them because the finished job stops looking homemade. Residential or light-commercial, surface-mounted, recessed into drywall or suspended on cable, the principle is the same.
Ordering and documentationThis listing, SKU
LCENDCAP-STAND-11-H, is for 1 unit, so count one cap per open end and order accordingly — most installers keep a couple of spares on hand, since these are the first small parts to disappear on a job site. No additional spec sheet or IES file is published for this accessory; selection is based on matching the #11 profile style. If you are unsure which profile you have, compare the cap's shape to the end of your channel before installing, and pick the with-hole version for the feed side and the no-hole version for the closed side.
