FINISHING END CAP #12 (WITH HOLE) – 1 UNIT

FINISHING END CAP #12 (WITH HOLE) – 1 UNIT

SKU: LCENDCAP-STAND-12-H

Brand: LEDCO

Give your aluminum LED channel a clean, finished ending instead of an open cavity with exposed tape and wiring. This is the finishing end cap #12 (with hole), the drilled style of LED channel end cap that closes off the end of an extrusion while letting the power lead slip out cleanly. People look for it under a lot of names — LED strip light end caps, channel end plugs, profile caps or simply "the little cap for the aluminum track" — and they all mean the same thing: the small piece that turns a cut length of profile into a finished, deliberate line of light. Sold as 1 unit, SKU LCENDCAP-STAND-12-H.

This is the drilled version: the opening in the face lets the power lead exit the channel without pinching, kinking or crushing the cable where it leaves the extrusion. End caps are profile-specific, so this one is made to suit the #12 standard profile shape — always match the cap to the extrusion you are actually using, because a cap that is one size off will never sit flush. Because it ships as a single piece rather than a pair, you can build a run exactly the way it needs to be wired: a drilled cap at the feed end where the wire comes out, and a solid, no-hole cap at the far end. Caps are available across the several sizes and shapes of channel on the market, from shallow surface-mount profiles to deeper recessed and corner extrusions, so a mixed job can still look consistent from room to room.

It's the finishing detail that makes under-cabinet lighting, cove and ceiling coves, closet and pantry strips, stair nosings, garage workbenches, retail shelving and display cases look professionally done rather than improvised. Renovators, cabinetmakers and electricians across Canada keep a handful in the van, because a cut-to-length aluminum LED channel almost always needs new ends. If you also run flexible neon on the same project, the matching Flex neon endcap 6x6 (with hole) and Flex neon endcap 3x6 (with hole) close those profiles the same way. Add a couple of spares to your order and finish every run properly the first time.

What it is and what it does
An aluminum LED channel is cut to length on site, and every cut leaves an open cavity at each end that exposes the LED strip, the edge of the diffuser and the wiring. A finishing end cap closes that opening so the profile reads as one continuous, deliberate line instead of an unfinished tube. This model is the drilled style, designed with an opening that lets the power lead exit the channel without pinching or kinking the cable. It also keeps dust, drywall grit and curious fingers out of the end of the extrusion — a small detail that protects the solder pads and the connector at the most vulnerable point of any LED strip light installation.

Fit: match the cap to the profile
End caps are profile-specific. The shape, the wall thickness and the internal channel geometry all differ from one extrusion to the next, so a cap must be matched to the exact profile you are installing. This one is the #12 standard shape. Caps are offered to suit the several sizes and shapes of channel on the market, from shallow surface profiles to deeper recessed and corner extrusions, so whatever mix of LED profiles a project uses, there is a corresponding cap. If you are unsure, compare the cap outline to the end of your extrusion before installing — a correct cap sits flush with the profile edge with no lip and no gap.

Installation tips from the field
Dry-fit the cap before you commit. Slide the LED strip and the diffuser into the channel first, feed the lead through the hole, then press the cap home. A light tap with a soft mallet seats a snug cap without marring the edge, and a small dab of adhesive holds it firmly on overhead or vertical runs where gravity and vibration eventually work a friction-fit cap loose. Always leave a little service slack in the wire so the cap can be pulled later for maintenance — nothing is more frustrating than a perfectly finished cove you have to destroy to replace a driver lead. Because the cap is sold as a single piece, order one drilled cap per feed point and a solid cap for each closed end.

Applications and companion products
Use it anywhere a channel is cut to size: under-cabinet and toe-kick lighting in a kitchen, cove lighting in a living room or hotel corridor, closet and pantry strips, stair and handrail lighting, garage and workshop benches, retail shelving, display cases and reception desks. For the no-hole end of the same run, or for a different profile on the same job, see the matching Finishing end cap #11 (no hole) and Finishing end cap #11 (with hole). Projects using flexible neon end caps can be closed off with the Flex neon endcap 6x6 (without hole) or the side-view and top-view versions of the same family.
