What it is and how it is built
The AST-TRK-H-LEC-BK is a live end connector — the energized feed — for the TUROLIGHT ASTELLA track system in H-type, single circuit configuration. It slips into the open end of a track section and becomes the electrical entry point of the run. Inside the housing are screw terminals for line, neutral and ground; outside, set screws lock the connector mechanically to the rail so the copper contacts stay firmly engaged. The black finish is chosen to blend with black AST track, giving a continuous, uninterrupted line across a ceiling instead of a visible junction.

Electrical and installation details
Rated 120V, 60Hz, 20A, this feed serves a 1-circuit (P + N + PE) track, which means a single switched circuit powers every head on the run while ground is carried the full length. It is a Class I, IP20 component for dry, indoor locations. Installation follows the printed instructions: shut off power at the main panel or fuse box before touching the track or accessories; position the track over the outlet box and mark the mounting holes; on drywall or plaster drill 5/8" holes and use the supplied toggle bolts, or standard #10 wood screws (not supplied) on wood surfaces, with the smooth underside of the track facing the ceiling or wall. Then cut and strip the box wires to 3/8", secure them under the screw terminals, loosen the set screws, slide the connector into the open end of the rail respecting the polarity line, tighten, install your lampholders, and only then turn the power back on. Local installation requirements must be respected.

Polarity, grounding and safety
On H-type track the ground tabs of the connectors must be prepared before sliding onto the non-ground conductor tab of the section you are joining — select and cut the correct tab before insertion (copper on one side versus copper on both sides tells you which). If the wrong tab has been removed, the connector must not be used, because grounding will no longer be maintained. To reduce the risk of fire, once all rails and connectors are installed, make sure a dead-end fitting is slid into every open end of the track and that all set screws are tightened before energizing. Only use fixture assemblies marked for use with this track. To reduce the risk of fire and electric shock, use only fixture assemblies marked for use with TUROLIGHT track.
