What it is and how it is built
The AST-TRK-H-SC-WH is the straight connector of the TUROLIGHT ASTELLA track system — the small but essential coupler that links two lengths of H-type single circuit track in a straight line. Inside the housing, copper contacts pick up the conductors of both track sections and transfer line, neutral and ground across the joint, which is why the installation instructions insist on preparing the correct grounding tab: the tabs must be set before the connector slides onto the NON-GROUND conductor side of the track section you are joining. If the wrong tab has been removed, the sheet is blunt — do not use the connector, because grounding will not be maintained. The white finish is matched to the white AST track so the seam is discreet on a white ceiling or wall.

Installation and electrical details
Start by shutting off the power at the main panel — the instructions call for it before installing any track or accessory. The track is mounted first: position it over the outlet box, mark the mounting holes on the ceiling or wall, and fasten it with the supplied toggle bolts on drywall or plaster (5/8 holes), or with standard #10 wood screws on wood surfaces, with the plain underside of the track facing the ceiling or wall. Local installation requirements must be respected. Before sliding this connector into the open end of a track section, loosen the set screws on the connector, then tighten them once it is fully seated. Wiring at the live feed connectors is done with 3/8 of insulation stripped and the conductors secured to the screw terminals — no need to wrap the wire around the screw. Finish the job by sliding dead-end caps into ALL remaining open ends of the track and tightening the set screws before power is restored.
