AST TRACK - 2 FT - H TYPE - 1 CIRCUIT - 120V - WHITE

AST TRACK - 2 FT - H TYPE - 1 CIRCUIT - 120V - WHITE

SKU: AST-TRK-H-02-WH

Brand: TUROLIGHT

Give your lighting a track to run on. The AST TRACK - 2 FT - H TYPE - 1 CIRCUIT - 120V - WHITE from TUROLIGHT is a 2-foot section of the ASTELLA track system, the backbone that lets you hang, slide and aim your track lighting heads exactly where the light is needed. People search for it as a track rail, a lighting track, a rail d'éclairage or simply "the bar the track lights clip into" — it's all the same thing: a surface-mounted channel that carries power along its length so you can add, move or remove fixtures without opening a single junction box again. This short 2 ft length is the one to grab for a small kitchen run, a single display wall, an entry, a stairwell, or to extend an existing run by exactly the amount you're missing.

This is an H-type, single-circuit track rated 120V, 60Hz, 20A, with a 1-way circuit (P + N + PE), Class I construction and an IP20 rating for dry indoor locations. The H-type standard is what makes it easy to live with: any lampholder or connector built for TUROLIGHT H-type track slides into the open end, locks with its set screw, and keeps the polarity line aligned so every head on the run behaves the same way. Heads mount with a quarter-turn — push the adapter's contact tabs into the slot, rotate 90°, and it's live; press the release lever and turn 90° to take it back off. The clean white finish tucks into a white ceiling instead of fighting with it, and the flat underside of the rail sits flush against the ceiling or wall. SKU: AST-TRK-H-02-WH.

It's a natural for kitchens and islands, condo hallways, home offices, basement renos, art walls and reading nooks, and just as at home in boutiques, salons, cafés, galleries and small showrooms where merchandise moves and the lighting has to move with it. In Canadian homes and commercial spaces alike, a short 2 ft run is often exactly what a cramped ceiling allows — and when you need more reach, it joins up with the same family: the AST Track 4 ft H type white, AST Track 6 ft H type white, AST Track 8 ft H type white and AST Track 12 ft H type white. Prefer a darker look? The same rail comes in black. Plan your run, add your heads, and light the room your way.

Built around the H-type standard
The ASTELLA track from TUROLIGHT is a single-circuit H-type track rail, one of the most widely used track profiles in North American residential and light commercial work. The extrusion carries a 1-way circuit (P + N + PE) along its length, with copper conductors seated inside the channel and a polarity line marked on the rail so every lampholder is installed the same way around. The underside of the rail is flat and faces the ceiling or wall for a tight, clean mount; the open side accepts the lampholders and connectors. This SKU is the 2 ft white version, AST-TRK-H-02-WH — the shortest length in the family and the easiest one to work into tight ceilings, soffits and short display runs.

Installation, step by step
Shut off power at the main panel before touching the track or any accessory. Position the rail over the outlet box, mark the mounting holes on the ceiling or wall, then fasten: on drywall or plaster, drill 5/8 holes and use the toggle bolts supplied; on wood, use standard #10 wood screws (not supplied). Next come the lampholders and the power feed connector — strip 3/8" of conductor and land the wires on the screw terminals inside the connector or the live end feed (no need to wrap the wire around the screw). Loosen the set screws on any connector before sliding it into the open end of the rail, and select the correct grounding tab so circuit polarity is maintained; if the wrong tab has been removed, don't use that connector, because grounding won't be maintained. Finish by sliding dead-end caps into ALL open ends of the track and tightening the set screws before powering up. Local installation requirements must be respected, and basic safety precautions always apply. Turn the main power back on and aim your heads.

Compatibility and accessories
To reduce the risk of fire and electric shock, use only fixture assemblies marked for use with TUROLIGHT track. The system's connector family is designed around this rail: AST-TRK-H-LEC and AST-TRK-H-EC end feeds, AST-TRK-H-XC, AST-TRK-H-LC, AST-TRK-H-TC and AST-TRK-H-SC connectors, AST-TRK-H-FC, plus the AST-TRK-H-MJ joiner — everything you need to build straight runs, corners, T and cross layouts. Because it's IP20, keep it to dry indoor locations. Need a longer run or a second leg? Combine this section with the AST Track 4 ft white, AST Track 6 ft white or AST Track 12 ft white, or switch finishes with the 2 ft black version.

Where it earns its keep — and the paperwork
Two feet of track lighting goes a long way over a kitchen island end, a coffee station, a hallway with two pieces of art, a home office desk or a basement bar. In commercial spaces, it's the go-to for a boutique window, a jewellery or bakery display, a salon station, a café counter or a small gallery wall where the merchandise changes every few weeks and re-aiming a head beats rewiring a ceiling. Since the rail is powered end to end, you can add a head, remove one, or re-space the whole run in minutes. The manufacturer's installation instructions and specification document for AST-TRK are available in the Documentation tab — worth printing for the electrician before the ceiling goes up.
