Small aperture, big presence: the 3" LUNA gimbal recessed fixture from LITELINE, model RA3-7G-40K-90WH, is the little recessed downlight that lets you aim light exactly where you want it. People call it a pot light, a 3-inch LED recessed light, an adjustable downlight or a gimbal trim — whatever the name, the idea is the same: a compact, airtight housing with a tilting gimbal head that swivels to graze a stone wall, wash a bookcase, highlight artwork or simply drop a clean pool of light on a kitchen island. It installs in a ceiling cutout with two spring-loaded clips, so it works in new construction as well as in retrofit jobs where you are cutting into an existing ceiling.

Under the white trim you get a durable airtight aluminum body with an anodized blue heat sink that keeps airflow moving around the LED module — the honest reason a small fixture can run reliably year after year. The 7 W LED module delivers up to 745 lumens at 96 lumens per watt, with a typical CRI of 90 so skin tones, wood grain, paint and fabrics look the way they should. The lens produces a 45° beam spread and the gimbal tilts up to 30°. Power comes from a dimmable Class II electronic driver rated 170 mA with 100-135V AC, 50/60Hz input, and the fixture dims smoothly on industry-standard TRIAC/ELV dimmers. The LUNA 3" gimbal starts with a durable airtight aluminum body and an adjustable gimbal yoke that lets the optic tilt within the trim. Inside, an anodized blue heat sink maximizes airflow around the LED light source, which is what keeps output and colour stable over the long run in a small recessed downlight. Two spring-loaded clips hold the fixture to any ceiling material, and the compact format — 3 31/32" (85 mm) outside, 2 5/16" (59 mm) deep, with a 1 7/8" (48 mm) and 4 5/8" (117 mm) footprint on the driver box side — slips into shallow cavities where a full housing simply will not go.

Light quality you can see
The 7 watt LED module maintains uniform intensity and produces up to 745 lumens, a very efficient 96 lumens per watt. A typical CRI of 90 means whites stay clean and reds stay rich — a real difference in kitchens, bathrooms, retail displays and anywhere people look closely at colour. The lens shapes a 45° beam spread, tight enough to be directional but wide enough to overlap comfortably when fixtures are laid out on a grid. Electrical, dimming and installation
The extruded aluminum hardwire box houses a 170 mA dimmable class II electronic LED driver with 100-135V AC input, connected to the fixture by an 18" (457 mm) FT6 rated cable with a DC 2.1 connector — approved for use in plenums and suspended ceilings. Three "Quick connect" push-in terminals make wiring fast on site, a real time-saver when a contractor is installing a dozen units in one afternoon.
