A white ceiling, a white wall and a single, perfectly finished line of light: that is what the LED Aluminum Profile #86 in white with opaque lens creates. This recessed LED channel with lens, also searched as a white aluminum profile for LED strip lighting, a recessed LED extrusion or a white LED aluminum channel, is designed to make the light source invisible, while the lens gives the line a complete, finished look. Its compact form factor permits a wide range of uses: ceilings, walls, kitchen cabinets, shelving, bathroom vanities, closets and commercial millwork.

This SKU, LCPROF-86-16FT-WH-LENS-OPAQ, pairs the white profile in a 16 ft length with an opaque lens that closes the channel over the strip. Designed for recessed installation, the profile is made of 6063-T5 aluminum, can be installed both indoors and outdoors and can be painted to match your decor. It accommodates and protects the majority of LED strips of the range, from white strips to colour RGB-RGBW. The technical drawing lists 27.5 mm (1.083 in), 19.4 mm (0.767 in), 16.4 mm (0.646 in), 12 mm (0.472 in) and 9 mm (0.354 in). The series also exists in 4 and 8 ft, custom fabrication is available up to 192 inches, and the profile is certified for the Canadian market with a 3-year warranty.

Picture a bright kitchen in Richmond Hill with a white line of light along the ceiling, a hospital corridor in Sherbrooke, a school hallway in Lethbridge or a white retail wall in Victoria: the white #86 with lens delivers a clean result, even where people look at it up close. Add your LED strip, recess the profile and install the lens. The range also includes the white #86 profile in 16 ft and, for shorter runs, the LED aluminum profile #86 in 8 ft. White recessed LED lighting, finished to the last detail.

A finished white line
The 86 series is designed for recessed installation and to make the light source invisible. Reference LCPROF-86-16FT-WH-LENS-OPAQ brings together a white profile, which blends into white drywall and white cabinetry, and an opaque lens that closes the channel. The result is a complete white line of light that looks at home in a family kitchen, a clinic, a classroom or a boutique.

Material and strip choice
The extrusion is made of 6063-T5 aluminum, can be installed both indoors and outdoors, and can be painted to match your decor if the wall colour changes. Inside, the profile accommodates and protects the majority of LED strips of the range: a white LED strip in the colour temperature that suits the room for kitchens, offices and healthcare spaces, or an RGB-RGBW strip for a lounge, a café or a boutique window that changes with the seasons. Test the strip with the lens in place before final installation to confirm the look you want.

Installation tips
A recessed profile sits in a groove or a cut-out in drywall, wood, a bulkhead, a cabinet or a shelf. Take the dimensions from the technical drawing before cutting, dry-fit the profile, then lay in the strip and install the lens. Plan the wire path and the location of the LED driver before walls are closed, and have any line-voltage connection made by a licensed electrician. The 16 ft length reduces joints on long runs, and custom fabrication up to 192 inches gives exact lengths.
