This black recessed LED channel, also searched as a black LED aluminum channel, a recessed aluminum extrusion or an aluminum profile for LED strip lighting, is designed to make the light source invisible and to melt into dark decor. Its compact form factor permits a wide range of uses: home theatres, bars and lounges, black feature walls, dark ceilings, display niches and modern commercial interiors.

This SKU, LCPROF-86-16FT-BK-LENS-OPAQ-BK, pairs the black profile in a 16 ft length with an opaque black lens, for an all-black line from end to end. Designed for recessed installation, the profile is made of 6063-T5 aluminum, can be installed both indoors and outdoors and can be painted to match your decor. It accommodates and protects the majority of LED strips of the range, white or colour RGB-RGBW. It is the choice for designers who want the architecture to stay pure, with nothing but the line of light to catch the eye.

Material, strips and finish
The extrusion is made of 6063-T5 aluminum, can be installed both indoors and outdoors, and can be painted to match your decor. The profile accommodates and protects the majority of LED strips of the range: pick a white LED strip for accent or functional lighting, or an RGB-RGBW strip for colour effects in a bar, a lounge or a gaming room. Since the lens colour affects how the line looks, test your strip with the lens in place before final installation, and choose a strip rated for the location if the profile goes outdoors.

Recessed installation
Recessing means setting the profile into a groove or a cut-out: in drywall, wood panelling, cabinetry, a bar front or a wall panel. Take the exact dimensions from the technical drawing before routing, and plan the wire path and the LED driver location before closing walls or cabinets. The 16 ft length reduces joints on long runs; the series also offers 4 and 8 ft lengths and custom fabrication up to 192 inches. Have any line-voltage connection made by a licensed electrician.
