Its compact form factor permits a wide range of uses: ceilings, walls, counters, shelving, stair walls and commercial millwork.

This SKU, LCPROF-86-16FT-BK-LENS-OPAQ, combines the black profile in a 16 ft length with an opaque lens that closes the channel over the strip. The profile is designed for recessed installation and made of 6063-T5 aluminum; it can be installed both indoors and outdoors and painted to match your decor. It accommodates and protects the majority of LED strips of the range, from white strips to colour RGB-RGBW. Recessed, black and closed
The 86 series is designed for recessed installation and to make the light source invisible. This version, LCPROF-86-16FT-BK-LENS-OPAQ, adds two finishing touches: a black profile that disappears into dark surfaces, and an opaque lens that closes the channel. The result is a tidy black line with a lens, well suited to places where people stand close to the light, such as counters, shelves, bars, reception desks and hallways.

Material and strips
The extrusion is made of 6063-T5 aluminum, it can be installed both indoors and outdoors, and it can be painted to match your decor if the colour scheme changes. Inside, the profile accommodates and protects the majority of LED strips of the range: a white LED strip for clean, functional light, or an RGB-RGBW strip for colour scenes in a lounge or a restaurant. For an outdoor installation, choose an LED strip and a driver rated for that location.

Installation tips
A recessed profile needs a groove or a cut-out in the material: drywall, wood, a cabinet side, a stair wall or a bar front. Check the dimensions on the technical drawing before routing, dry-fit the profile, then lay in the strip and install the lens. Plan the wire path and the location of the LED driver before walls or cabinets are closed, and have any line-voltage connection made by a licensed electrician. At 16 ft, the profile covers long runs with fewer joints; custom fabrication up to 192 inches handles exact lengths.
